"Lucky" set

Post by Iron Clad Ben » 15 Nov 2009 09:55

I don't think this has been posted yet. Scott Davidson sort of invented a new set / hangtime-concept called "lucky". It essentially involves threading the bag both before and after a duck or dive. Here are the videos. I thought this was pretty cool and figured some people might want to give it a shot.

Anyway for those of you who don't know, Scott has been shredding every day in a row since he turned 40, which is now over 1000 days. It's a huge inspiration to me. Check out his blog here:

It sure looks nice, but the usefulness of this idea keeps baffling me.

Styley, we use to do something like this.

We would put our hands on our head and thread the bag through the holes that way, i've hit it with ripped warrior before

Hm, interesting but seems to distract from the actual shred? Anyway, each to their own good on him :)

Also that's a crazy amount of footbag in a row. I'm probably closer to having 1000 days in a row NOT playing footbag :(

Im not too keen on those moves, Scott did invent the hands on heads version too. But even if its not great it doesnt deserve dissing. 8) Moshers tail isnt the smoothest either, but these kinda concepts keep the footbag sport heading in some direction instead of stagnant.

Scots been doing this for years. Basically people dont acknowledge it, so it more like a stylistic thingy and not an extra move/ its more for crowds and Scott knows that.

On a side note- anyone notice the proper duck form. Thats how its done, dont set that bag too high, its supposed to be tight around the neck.

I used to hit infinities so that I held my hands together behind my back and set through the "ring". Kinda hard to explain...
