Do we really need the footbag.org video gallery?

Footbag videos and footbag related videos such as takraw, freestyle soccer, etc.

How important is the footbag.org video gallery system to you?

Very important (I use it for video upload, and/or I use it to find videos from other footbag.org users)

I upload my videos and view others' occasionally on .org. I'd use it more if I had the time, just because it is an official footbag site and not Youtube or whatever. That being said, though, if you believe it is best, I can suffice without.

I agree with Andrew. Footbag.org would serve as a really nice archive for "official" or more "professional" videos.

But with everybody having the sharing option I don't see the need to invent the wheel again. The "streaming" option on footbag.org is rather limited compared to youtube and vimeo and others who offer a really nice free service. Embedding is also a really nice feature and should be used more. Just pressing play to watch a few minute video is a lot easier than downloading and watching. Especially if you are doing it somewhere else than home, maybe even on your cellphone.

Youtube quality is more than enough for most footbag videos there are and vimeo even more so. Most people don't even have cameras that can film good enough quality to exceed the quality the services offer.

Also if we put our videos on youtube and vimeo and such everybody can find them, even by accident. More exposure for the sport. I must say I can't even find a user made video on footbag.org without a direct link on modified or somewhere else.

The only drawback I see is the lack of direct download on youtube. (Vimeo and other services do have it) I know most of you download every single video there is and store it forever and take pride on the size of your video collections. I know I did, until I lost interest in following the video scene that closely a few years ago. I still download the best ones I find, but I like to see what I'm getting first.

Let's use the new technologies to our advantage. Steve is busy enough already :)

PS: maybe in the near future we can watch footbag videos from tournaments like they show near the end of this cool video demo:
