He is in a very high level so soon. He lools really safe and good control.

Thanks again!

Just a tinny question. Did David, Jorden, Jim, Honza or Vasek went to the Worlds? I hope so, but it's wierd not to see them in the contest.

That last combo from Milan was sooooo smooth! 8O First try too!

Also, I think Vasek came in after the request contest ended, judging from the topic in the "Journies" forum from Roy Klein's (Poison Taffy) statement.

"Footbag can be pretty frustrating when it's supposed to be fun. I was partly driven by this forum - practice, practice, practice... As that is true, I think someone can be too focused on progressing and training that they miss the fun aspect of it." - Bander87

Thanks for the video Mathieu.
Awesome links selections!

imo, Milan should have won before the final round. The locomotion > whirr wasn't clean, or at least didn't look like it to me.

Congrats!

Great video, thanks Mathieu :)

While the whirr is definitely toey, the bag never leaves the "cone" his foot makes on the dex, so I'd call that clean.

for the whirr thing, people have complained at the event, but everything goes so fast, and it was hard to tell from different angles players have different perspective, so you cant tell someone its not good if unsure, and this was too hard to take him out.

One upload of circle is done, others will be done within the day

just copied this from my email, i know most of you got it, but for those who didnt or havent shared this yet, here it is:
the message is from steve goldberg.
Hi, folks,

I'm writing this e-mail on behalf of the organizers of this year's IFPA World Footbag Championships in Berlin.

For those of you who can't be at Worlds this year, I wanted to give you a quick update on how things are going, and also to let you know about a special plan for this Saturday's finals.

First, the update:

The 2009 IFPA World Footbag Championships in Berlin kicked off this past Sunday night with an opening ceremony and player party, with competition beginning in earnest on Monday morning, July 20.

Preliminary rounds continue today with semi-finals and finals starting tomorrow and running through Saturday evening, local time. We have had a very large turn-out for this year's event -- we'll publish all the statistics later, but just as one case in point, we had approximately 72 players register for Open Singles Freestyle, which translates to a record 12 pools of players in today's qualification round (whew!).

As for the venues -- freestyle and net are at one integrated site, with amazing food (catered breakfast and lunch included for players/guests!), excellent playing surfaces (tennis court for freestyle, astro-turf for net, and an awesome and very large indoor gym just in case of rain -- all right next to each other within seconds of bathrooms, excellent water, and other food/drink options).

The level of play this year is astounding, with net players and freestylers showing the very top level of competition in the sport's history this year. Hopefully you'll be able to see for yourself in just a few days (read below).

As for the organization, the crew here is doing a great job keeping the event running on schedule, providing perks and an awesome environment for the players, and showing the best face of footbag to Berlin and to the world.

Now, for the special plan for Saturday:

For this Saturday's finals show, there will be a LIVE VIDEO STREAM on the internet, so all of you can watch the finals show live!

The show is scheduled to start July 25, 18:00 CEST -- that's Central European "Summer" Time.

To view the show live, just go to http://www.footbag.org/worlds2009 this Saturday at 18:00 CEST, to see the live video stream.

For those of you who aren't so familiar with time zone math :-), I've compiled a short list of some other time zones that correspond to this time, so you can hopefully work out the proper time from wherever you live*:

California: July 25, 9:00 a.m. (PDT)
New York: July 25, 12:00 noon (EDT)
London: July 25, 17:00 (BST)
Berlin: July 25, 18:00 (CEST)
Helsinki: July 25, 19:00 (EEST)
Moscow: July 25, 20:00 (MSD)
Perth: July 26, 00:00 midnight (Aus. WST)
Tokyo: July 26, 01:00 a.m. (JST)
Sydney: July 26, 02:00 a.m. (Aus. EST)
Auckland: July 26, 04:00 a.m. (NZST)

*Note: I just did these myself, so I may have made an error. Please don't miss this show, so please make sure you find out what time 18:00 CEST translates to in your time zone!

Again, point your web browser at the time of the show above (based on your time zone) to:
http://www.footbag.org/worlds2009

Thanks, and I hope everyone can "tune in" this Saturday to see the finals show (and I especially hope the technology doesn't fail us!).

Steve

P.S. Please don't ask me for help with watching the live show, or to report problems. For one thing, I won't be online during the show. For another, I'm really not involved with the live broadcast. If it works, great. If not, please accept the local team's apologies -- but rest assured that all the relevant videos and results will be online as soon as feasible after the event concludes this weekend. Thanks!

I will post Vasek's routine before sleeping if it works from my 2nd computer.

Other routines will be posted later, for some reason wifi does'nt work on one computer anymore :(

Big thanks to my first supporter for these quick videos, Planetfootbag is the greatest !

Thanks for putting all the work into this! It's a real treat to be able to see this stuff basically as it is happening. I'm sure it's time consuming to do. It's very much appreciated!

The level of control Vasek has astonishes me. Haha, even though he dropped a few times in the routine, he just makes everything look so fluid.

yes a lot of time consuming, I'm actually staying up for 2 extra hours tonight since my EEE PC does'nt get wifi anymore so I can upload videos ...

Hopefully it works fine tomorrow so I can queue uploads and let the computer in the office of the hotel (wifi does'nt work in our rooms so well)

Edit:

Just done uploading all the routines I got from quarterfinals. I will film circle semi finals tomorrow, look out for some epic shred, the pools are crazy.
