how do I build endurance

Post by proof » 16 Apr 2006 13:03

ok, when I started one of the very first things i did was a butterfly, which is alright. I normally get one in every run which I also can do infinaty, pick ups, ss butterfly, clipper over, cliper 2 clipper, & etc. sometimes I may get in about 4 tricks max. & sometimes I may get in a really great run but thats only once in a great while, i have a great teacher though his name is ben, but I would also like to get someone elses opion. I WOULD LOVE SOME HELP, PLEASE :)

I have to doubt that endurance is the issue for a run length of around 4 moves. More likely, the problem is consistency. Work on the basics till you can do long sequences of them, like doing legover x 10 or 15 back to back clippers. Also, by doing this your individual moves will get more solidified in muscle memory and you will shave off unnecessary parts, making them easier to do and making fatigue less of a problem.

Yeah, I think you are asking "how can I build string lenght?". I think there is a topic around here, but too lazy to search for it right now. Doing strings is by no means easy at first, and takes lots of practice. I've been playing for several months (hehe, not hardcore though) and my lenght is around 10 contacts on a good run. Everyone comes with time.

Endurance

Post by beenjammin » 29 Apr 2006 14:04

I'd start off by eating 20 raw eggs every morning and hanging your curtains before noon. Practice every trick to use the smallest amount of effort and movement possible. Straight sets, and form are very important. Remember there is no footbag.

im a guy who says start from the bottom and work your way up (so to speak) i think that the best way to build endurance for footbag or hacky sack alike is to just simply pratice, thats what i do, and i also do a lot of biking? hope that helps

Drill drill and drill some more. Repeat butterflys untill you can consistantly link 30, then drill till you can do 50. Then drill linking that one trick into and out of other tricks. If you can do that then you own the move and can rely on it to increase string lenth any time.
