Trick Lingo.. Making sense, not at all!
Trick Lingo.. Making sense, not at all!
Hey guys.. I scanned through a few of these threads about trick strings, and I see things like dex>over>fairyball>under>tinkerwinkle... Okay, so it's not EXACTLY like that, but close to it in my mind! I was wondering if there is a sort of sheet explaining the terms in a way I might understand... I'm starting to pick up some terms, but there's a lot I dont know.. Any help is greatly appreciated, and if there is a thread already explaining this, please link it! Roger, over and out.

In case you're having trouble finding it, you were asking "Jobs notation" and the link is in the resources box here.

another thing to know is that there's different things that go between the ">>>" that we use.
sometimes it's parts of a trick:
toe > op in > same in > same in > same out > op toe
that would be how you would write a triple miraging same illusion, set from toe (a totally impossible trick), in Job's notation.
sometimes it's whole tricks written in a string:
nemesis > nemesis > furious triage > toe blurry ducking flurry
that would be how you would write a completely impossible string
so, read up on job's notation, then you'll be able to use that knowledge plus contextualism to know which is which. keep playing, and learn to apply the jobs to what you're doing, and you'll start to make sense of it, I promise.

I also wrote a tutourial, many moons past, on www.hackrifice.com :
It's under "FAQ", although it seems that I may have accidentally deleted that page recently, so I will have to upload it when I get home. Oh, wait, temporarily (I'm at "work"):

It took me a long time to figure out Job's at first, so mine might be more newb-friendly? I dunno. It's old, so I forget what I wrote.
