Whats symp/symposium?

Post by Wu_ » 24 Aug 2007 15:24

What does Symp/Symposium really mean?

If i set the bag with my toe and use that same leg to do a mirage without putting it on the ground... would that be symposium mirage?

Sorry if this question has been asked a million times.

Symposium

"Symposium" is a concept for moves where the leg performing a dexterity (ie., circling the footbag) is planted immediately before and after the dexterity, while the other (setting) leg does not touch the ground. This form of a move requires more strength and balance since the dexterity is performed in the air.

Not necessarily. You would have to hop and land with the same leg you dexed the bag with. Without putting your other leg on the ground.

Do you get points for doing symposium basic kicks? Is there even such a thing?

they way i understand symposium is that you cant really do a basic kick in a symp style since your not dexing.
if you were to kick and than dex with other foot without planting your kick foot it might be symposium... is that right?

Yes, I believe you got that right. It still wouldn't be a symposium kick though. It would be a kick set symposium "whatever".

Kicks can't be symposium. They'd just be styley kicks.
