Newbie!!

Post by the_8_bit_kid » 23 Mar 2009 05:34

Hey guys,im new to the sport after being introduced to it by a mate, been playing for about 3 weeks. Was just wondering if anyone could give me any pointers on basic kicks? Ive read alot of the other posts on here and watched Anz trikz vids but i cant seem to get any real consistancy. Im having real trouble getting the bag to go straight up when i start alternating on my inside kicks. Im fine just using a single foot then catching it but as soon as i start to alternate i find im moving all over the place trying to keep the bag under control as it flies off all over the place! Ive got myself a pair of lavers and im using a mr sand bag, any ideas?

Yep - Keep practicing :D Building Footbag skills takes time, it's perfectly normal. From what you describe, your drilling method is good. Give it another 2-3 weeks and if you feel like you're not improving, upload a video and you'll get more precise pointers. Getting perfect alternating kicks will usually take much longer than that, though.

Kudos on finding all the right info straight away, and welcome to footbag!

Thnks alot, atleast I know it's not just me then. I'll stick at it, I was just worried I was doing something realy wrong, I do seem to be getting better, just not as quick as I'd like!

Try to kick the bag the same height or close to it every time.

That way it helps you get into the rhythm of setting the bag up straight.
