Kicking Bag
Is the Mr. Sandbag a good bag to learn kicks with, or will that damage it? Should I start with a crocheted bag?

Hey Aaron, welcome to Modified! Glad you're getting into the sport To answer your question, you're gonna want to stay away from crochet bags. They basically suck all together for freestyle. A Mr. Sandman will do the trick to get you started on kicks.
2 more things:
Here is a video to get you started with basic kicks:

Second thing: What town/city and state/province are you from? I'm familiar with locations of almost every player. There's a chance you might live close by an experienced player who could really teach you the ropes.

Holy crap. That's random, but totally awesome haha
I looked around your area, and I didn't see any players close by :/
You can check this out https://mapsengine.google.com/map/edit? ... g2ZtK1JaSE
It's not impossible to learn from videos though. I know plenty of players who learned from video and got really good.
Also, if you ever need help with anything, have any questions about anything in the sport, etc.. don't hesitate to ask for my help. I enjoy helping new players.
