Question...

Post by shredita girlie » 28 Jun 2004 18:39

After practicing with my boyfriend the other night... we came to the conclusion that it's easier for me to hit a Dragonfly compared to hitting a Butterfly. Now, I figured it would be the opposite... is there something odd about me being able to hit the one almost everytime and barely being able to hit the other?

Are you talking about Butterfly Kicks or Stalls? Because I know that Dragonflies used to be a lot easier for me than butterfly kicks...

Hmm . . . it may have to do with the fact that your bf is just soooo hot that, when you shred, each time you attempt a butterfly, you happen to catch a glimpse of him ;) which causes you to drop immediately. No, but really, everyony leanrs tricks in a different order and everyones legs seem to feel right for certain moves. Maybe dragonflies (and dragons) may come naturally to you but not the butterfly. Just keep working hard at it b/c its super important!

Well, I'm talking about the Buttefly kicks. It's so much easier for me to hit a Dragonfly than a Butterfly. And that just seemed strange to me... Yeah, I can't do those fancy stalls yet. Haha.

I originally hit a Buttefly kick a couple times... but after hitting a Dragonfly... it seems impossible to me to do a Buttefly kick.

Haha. True... it is hard sometimes to play footbag with my boyfriend and concentrate at the same time... but, yea I think it's more natural for my leg to move one way than the other. I still practice trying to hit Butterflies.

It's easier for me to hit a legover than a mirage. Granted, I can hit both... I just am able to consecutively hit legovers a lot more than a mirage.

you set the bag just above waist height and do an in to out dexterity with your opposite leg then with the setting leg you do an inside kick.

edit:This is my 300th post :!:
Hopefully back one day.

your body is just diffrent. like me for example, my normal swirl is a rev. swirl. its harder for me to do a regular swirl than it is to do reverse. sometime your body will function that way. the important thing is to skool your buterflys, both sides. keep at it, it will get easyier.
