housing for worlds 2008
Yeah, Riku. You gotta mention the special rate and that you are with the IFPA World Footbag Championships, and maybe that you are a competitor. That's what Wiktor told me to say and I got a reply within a couple hours saying I got the special rate (170 Krowns per night instead of 200) and a room for 2. I also made sure to include all the stuff that Justin quoted (phone number seems important...). Also write in clear English so they completely understand what you mean.

Hello,
You have reserved 2 three-bed rooms, that means 6 beds from 9th to 19th of August. The price for participants of ofpa world championship is 170 czech crowns/person per night + deposit 500 crowns per room (you will get this money back when you leave). Therefore the price of entire stay of six people(for 10 nights) wil be 10 200 czech crowns plus the deposit 1000 (for 2 rooms).
Have a nice day.

This my email about pricing and all of that. They were very quick to respond and helpful. As you read, I did reserve two three-bed rooms. Scott and I only need one, and the other I got in case the place filled up (I made these reservations a while ago). So, there is this room that is available for the first three people that can commit to paying for this room in full (including the down payment). If I don't get any responses by the end of this week (Friday) I am going to try and switch my reservation for just one room. Let me know!

Jamie and I will be toughing it out on the streets. The more the better (/safer). We have found that most train stations in big cities have locker rooms where you can stash you bag. Store your valluables and the biggest part of your bulk at the station, bring only what you need (a day bag is best) and sleep with nothing to loose. Most people wont kill you randomly in the streets... right?
Maybe some Czecs could confirm a moderate lack of bloodthirst in the streets of Prague...
Anyway, assuming things are reasonably similar in Prague as they are to the rest of Europe (that I have seen), sleeping in the streets is for sure the way to go.

I got a response from Andrew T. Grant first, so he has first claim on a bed in that room. Second was admin, however, he said that he had three people. There are only three beds, so you guys figure it all out and let me know. I don't know if more people can stay in the room, maybe that is something you might want to look into.

Sorry this is important, (what a mess to introduce myself to the modified community with, hi everyone btw
)
Aidan or Andrew just in case you havent got my pm:
Hi! I am Armin unfortunately not an admin
from Austria, thanks for your reply Aidan!
So Andrew, are you still interested in the room do we have to fight? Just kidding...
the rest of my crew has found an alternative, but I would still prefer the worlds hostel just because I am totally low on money!
So Andrew please let me know as soon as possible if you still claim the room, if yes, I am more than willing to be your roomate (actually I was looking forward to meet you anyways
) and we should find a third mate? I have to inform my friends today so please contact me via pm - this thread - or email armo[at]gmx.at
cheers
Armin from Austria

To those staying with me, I am willing to front the money at check in, but I do want you to know that because I made the reservations, I can't change them according to everyones travel plans (we are arriving at different days). For the two rooms, six beds it is 714 USD, so that comes to about 118 USD per person for the whole week. If you want to send me the money now rather than later, that that's fine, send me a pm. Other wise, please have the money for me upon arrival.
