Hello Everyone,

Worlds 2009 in Berlin is only 99 (!) days away from us and here's the latest news.

______________________
1. New Sponsors

Finding a sponsor is hard work, and rarely rewarding. That's why success
tastes even better - in these two cases even literally:

Bolzen Bier, a new beer brand, is now official sponsor of the World Footbag
Championships. And looking at the logo, it truely fits!
www.bolzen-bier.de

For those who prefer their drinks without those volume percents, the organic
lemonade Bionade supplies us with a good amount of bottles.
www.bionade.de

______________________
2. Promotion Campaign

be open, be free, be berlin - sounds random? The capital's own promotion
campaign uses slogans like that. And is soon to apply that concept to our
event. We can't reveal the details yet, but you can be sure that 'Mission:
Dandelion' will be a true success.

______________________
3. Accommodation

If money has been an issue to you, we have good news: There now also is a
gym as accommodation option. It's a little further away from the sites
(=40 min walk) and will be closed during daytime, but hey - it's cheap!
For as little as 5 Euros per night you can have your own few square meters of floor space.

Our host hotel, the East Side City Hotel, is already close to full!
Don't count on still getting a triple room there.

______________________
4. What's next?

The full website is currently being finalized and will be released next
week, along with online registration. Please wait for another announcement on that. Also -- remember -- everyone will be required to pre-register and pre-pay this year. We will not be accepting late registrations or payment on-site! So be sure to watch for the registration information next week.

Worlds 2009 is in Berlin. Can't wait!

At the East Side Hotel,
there's only 6 Single rooms left which can possibly be turned into doubles.
As doubles they will only cost 53 Euros, since they are much smaller than the regular daoubles (60 Euros).
I think we might get another two doubles if there is enough interest.

I dont know about the capacities of the other two hostels we have discount deals with...

When trying to pay via paypal from the link provided when registering, I get an error message saying the link I used has an incorrect formated total.

Is there a paypal adress I can send my payment to for registration?

No, all payments must be made through the online registration system that relays you to paypal, or using Bank Transfer only with the code that's given.

I fixed the bug. Please just re-submit your registration -- it will take 30 seconds to get back to the PayPal screen, sorry about that.

@Anssi, I noticed you also registered but didn't pay; I'm guessing you had the same problem?

REMINDER: This year, for the first time since 1993, we are requiring all players to pre-register by July 9. If you do not pre-register and pay by July 9, you cannot compete. *Exception: guests may pay the guest fee on-site during check-in only to get player packs and access to sites and parties all week.

Thanks.

It seems like I will be able to make it this year, money will finally not be an issue and I should have no problem getting the time off, yay!

Also, I intend on drilling the fuck out of a routine, watch out Top 10!

So, go ahead and register now! I don't get why people don't use the registration form as the place to tell everyone they're going. You can see who's registered there much more concisely than reading it buried in a thread somewhere.

Thanks.

Paul, if you are not considering to answer questions in the proper place at .org you should remove the link to the .org forum from the contact list of the worlds-weppage.

from the event website:
Men are allowed to only compete in one Singles Net discipline and one Doubles Net discipline plus Mixed Doubles Net (so for instance you can't compete in Intermediate Singles Net and also Masters Singles Net).

· If you enter Open Singles Net you are not allowed to compete in Intermediate Doubles Net.
playing both doubles net in different disciplines doesn't make sense. it's world championships, not little league, you know where you compete and thats it. aside from that we want to avoid scheduling problems for all the net players.

Getting very excited for this. The website looks fantastic too.

Two quick questions, from the first post in this thread:
Paulsator wrote:The registration fee will be a flat rate for everyone -- intermediates, open competitors, and guests -- regardless of how many events you want to participate in. However, to be eligible for prize money, you need to pay an extra fee.
On the worlds website it says there is no prize money, and in the registration I didn't see an option for prize money. I just wanted to clarify which is the case.
Paulsator wrote: The tournament will start on Sunday, July 19, with the intermediate qualifications, and the rest of the events will begin on Monday, July 20.
Is the schedule on the worlds website still the most current?

There will be no price money. All the info on the website is most current. Of course the schedule (especially net) is subject to change a lot.
