Will it be possible to judge ourselves?

I mean, if we have no judges, could we judge ourselves judging other players? And when someone have to show his routine (for example), that one doesn't judge and the other players judge him.

Anyway, the best way is having judges

What do you think modifiers? Do you think we can judge by this way if we have no judges?

That way sounds better than having no results. If the competition is for the title of Spanish champion you should get some results.
Making it all happen exactly by the book is not that important if it's too hard to arrange.
You players can decide yourselves how the ranks go, by voting or just discussing, or however you do it. Just make sure all the players participating knows the deal, so it doesn't get unfair.

And what if we film all the competicion, then we upload it and post it, and all the modifiers vote the spanish champion?
it could be possible?

Sounds like the modified idea could work as a last resort or back up judgment, but I'm willing to bet that the players themselves can recognize who did the best.

How many people are entering the competition? If you have more than 8 people, a way to do judging is to have three different pools with three people each. In each pool you have three judges from the pool that is the best fit. Here's an example: (sorry if you already know all of this...)

POOL 1-
Shredder A
Shredder B
Shredder C
Judges G, H, I

POOL 2-
Shredder D
Shredder E
Shredder F
Judges A, B, C

POOL 3-
Shredder G
Shredder H
Shredder I
Judges D, E, F

With this example, the first set of judges get enough time to warm up for their pool while the Second pool is being held. And after that, the pool that just went gets to judge the next pool. If you "seed" the players, or purposefully place certain ranked players in different pools (see example below) then that allows you to have some sort of equal judging system.

Shredders in order of skill (Seeding Chart):

1) Vasek (Shredder A)
2) Milan (Shredder D)
3) Jim (Shredder G)
4) Tuukka Antikainen (Shredder B)
5) Matt Cross (Shredder E)
6) Zac Miley (Shredder H)
7) Local 1 (Shredder C)
8) Local 2 (Shredder F)
9) Local 3 (Shredder I)

This example uses the top players (in my mind) in the world, some great players you might see on Modified, and then three "local" players that you may not know how good they are.

This way, you can distribute them into the above pool system to make the pools more even. After that you get the best one or two people from each pool and hold finals. All you have to do is create a seeding chart that is roughly based around the players who's skill level you know, and then the ones who's skill level you don't know.

If you have too few/many people for this format, then change the number of people in each pool and/or how many advance into finals. You want the top 5-10 guys in finals so it's a real "Championship"

i hope this helps :)

yessss... but... the problem is that we are organising something a bit different. let me explain.

the champ will be an hepthalon with 7 competitions (routines, circle, big one, sick 3, shred 30, request contest and big one request contest). In each task there will be points, and at the end, the footbager with more point will be the champion of spain. by this way, the champion will be the best in all the circumstances. obviously the routines and the circle are more valiable than the others.
so, the problem of judge aourselves is that a competitor could judge subjectively to be the champion.
the thing is that we dont need judge for shred 30, and the request constest.
with the big one and sick 3, we can try to judge ourselves ( watching all of us the player who is hitting the tricks...) and in circle contest we could do what sidekick sais.
but routines... i think is impossible...

What sidekick said was the way it was done at worlds in the past.

Just have the different pools judge each other. For the finals have the players who did not qualify for the finals as judges.

Should work well enough. Just make sure all the players understand how to judge.

Actually, I meant that pool chart to be for routines. You can do it with Circle as well, and I think the best bet would be to either grade yourselves or post videos for the sick 1 and sick 3.

I fell that sick 1 and sick 3 are more subjective than routines, circle is a fairly subjective as well, but the trick competitions are entirely based on what the individual thinks is more "difficult" or what is "best". In that regard, modified community members would be more than willing to help, plus there isn't as much footage that each person would have to sort through because you can make a short video of everyone who hit the trick(s) and it would be a quick watch.

For circle, I know that they have two rounds that help the judges grade the skills of each person. As for routines, I've seen a somewhat complicated judging sheet, and I've also seen a bunch of scrap papers with chicken scratch all over them used to do the judging, so it's up to you how you want to officially judge the competitions, just make sure that every judge is on the same page (as much as you can)

I would say three per pool would be the least amount of judges. I've seen it as high as 5 judges, but three works just as well.

No worries, the language barrier is a difficult one at times, but the key is continued communication. Good luck with the Spanish Championships, I look forward to seeing the videos :)

why did you choose these dates? its very difficult to have people compete and travel around christmas and new years, especially between the two
