I'll be traveling with my girlfriend in California the 3 weeks prior to Worlds. It would be amazing if some people could have crash space for us. (we'll have sleeping gear.) We'll be pleased to pay dinner and i can definately shred with our host.
Our schedule should look like:
Arriving in San Fransisco July 10
San Fransisco area July 10 to 14
Santa Cruz July 15
Santa Barbara July 16
Los Angeles area July 17 to 19
San Diego area 20-21
Palm Springs July 22
Barstow area July 23
Death Valley July 24-25
Sequoia National Park July 26-27
Mammoth Lakes area July 28
Yosemite July 29-30
Back to San Fransisco July 31
Then my girlfriend goes back home and i stay for Worlds.
If someone can help us or have any suggestion about accomodation, please let me know.
thanks

Nice! We'd be happy to have you stay here when you're in the area. We have an annoying cat, but she's really friendly.
Let me know details (like if you need a ride from the bus station) as it gets closer.

I'll need to check my recently purchased airline tix, but I'm pretty sure I'll be out of town for a lot of the time you're in SF.
Looking down your list, I'd say you could cut a day from SF. i don't think you'll want to spend so long there . . . it is a small-ish city. Your drive from Santa Cruz to Santa Barbara is going to be about 5 hours.
What is in Barstow that you're interested in? I've never heard of it being a tourist destination. Here are the gems on your list of places to visit:
San Fransisco area July 10 to 14
San Diego area 20-21
Sequoia National Park July 26-27
Mammoth Lakes area July 28
Yosemite July 29-30
If I were you, I'd try to spend a lot of time in Sequioa and Yosemite, especially if you two are into nature. Those are some of the most amazing places around and you could spend weeks there and still have many things to see.
LA could be cool too if you decide to visit Universal Studios (hollywood movie themed park with rides) or Disneyland (fun rides and cool disney atmosphere) or Magic Mountain (the best thrill-seeking rides).
I'm trying to figure out if you can stay in my place when I'm gone from July 10th-14th. I live in a fairly nice neighborhood about 10 minutes walk from a metro station to SF (15 minute train ride). Getting you the key would be the tricky part.
