You could check out Sweden and/or Estonia, as they are quite close to Finland. Cheapest way to travel is by ferries, see http://www.tallinksilja.com/en/ or http://www.vikingline.fi/index.asp?lang=en. St. Petersburg isn't too far either, so if you like seeing other countries that might be nice. Maybe you can even get someone local to show you around.
See you,

Hey,
me and Tomas Tucek still need 1-2 people to our room in Omena hotel - Lonnrotinkatu. The price isn´t so high I think. It´s 115 EUR for 8 nights (30. 7. to 7. 8.). PM me please if interested. Thanks!

Evan, I've got a few days before and after worlds as well. If you need a travel buddy, let me know.

I'm planning to take David (Castillo) around Finland a bit after Worlds. Mostly Middle-Finland (city called Jyväskylä) where my parents live, where we have our summer cottage nearby and where Toni and Tanja live too. Really idylic Finnish nature etc.
You can join us too if want. This is not planned fully yet, but we are thinking about it.
See you all soon!

Remember to register! You have only until Sunday to register for the Worlds, and there won't be any sort of late registration...So if you're planning to compete or just watch the tournament, go ahead and register here.
See you soon,

In case some people have missed this:
Worlds Video Contest 2011
Deadline for submissions has been moved to 29th July!
In order to make the night unforgettable, we really need the community to participate. This is an exceptional opportunity to view your video on the big screen with 200 footbaggers as your live audience! Submissions can of course be sent even if you won't be attending the tournament.
Great ideas don't require the best equipment, just get out there and make it happen!

Hi Kljopa!
We must leave the event site for each night so that's not an option. Camping on someone's backyeard might be an option if you can find someone with a backyard. None of the 20 or so Helsinki-based footbaggers I know live in a house with backyeard.
There is a camping site called Rastila camping in eastern Helsinki that might have available tent space.
There's also something called every man's rights in Finland. That might be worth looking into.
You could also help out Ted and shack up with him in Omena hotel (or perhaps try one of the hostels in Helsinki.
Hope this helps,
Matti
