south eastern shred

Post by smpdustin15 » 21 Jul 2006 16:56

Ok so here we go me and some others are putting together a nice little comp/shred/net in murfreesboro in October.
So far theres going to be a sick 3 and sick 1. This is a thred to decide if any other events should happen. So if you can make it drop a line so we know how big this will be. And if you cant make it well then grrrr.

are you actually talking about hosting the SE regionals or just something informal? because i think we should try to run the SE this year, but we need more people to help organize, judge, and so on. is anybody willing to do something more than just shred?

well i was hoping for more people to say they could actually show or maybe compete. but it seems as tho im talkin to myself. do i smell?

id like to have many people show but if its gonna be you me trey and andy not really a reason to compete. if we can get some people to come that are willing to compete then we can put together some prizes ect..

for the shred 30s we'd need a video camera to keep up with the contacts, but other than that to judge wouldnt be bad. but if we get some prizes and its just a normal weekend shred its a waste of money.

id like for a turn out like year before last south easterns. im just waitng for some peeps to say hell ya i can make it then well make it a big to do. but i can call andy and trey and have a little shred together.

id like for lee, brian in nashville, brian in murfr, you, andy, trey in al, trey here, alex in ga, ben in ga, andrew coleman, and everyone else that could possibly make it that way thered be some people to make it an event.

we don't have a venue or a date yet. we're just trying to figure out if we can actually get enough people together to make it worth while. i wouldn't worry about routines... a shred 30 at the most.

Id like to make it out in oct. Unsure of what will be going on with school and money though. I'll talk to Sam and see what he thinks.

well initially when i was planning the event i was just going to set it up at the park where we play net every week. they have a number of shelters with seating capacities that range from 24 - 312 people and most can be reserved all day for $60. though i'm not sure if any of you sheltered climate sensitive freestylers have any objections to having it outside. well a roof is better than nothing. any other ideas?

as far as dates are concerned we may as well just throw one out there; it's not like there are any holidays that would interfere with the event. how about oct.14th?

i've been trying to determine the number of kickers we have in the region. i'm probably a few numbers off but i think i'm pretty accurate in a saying that we have nearly 30 footbaggers. nashville 4, m'boro 6, manchester 3, huntsville 3, atlanta 3, knoxville 5, orlando 3, miami 1 (technically memphis still has the largest footbag club in the SE with 12 active members, however all are net players and most don't travel) now all we have to do is get everybody in the same place at the same time.

I have to go to a wedding one Saturday in October. I'll check up on that later today. *crosses fingers that it's not the 14th*

i don't want to put anything into stone yet because i'm just trying to get a better feel for the response. while i understand that not everyone is going to be reading this thread, i just need to know 2 things from the majority of potential attendes.
1.) is oct. 14th good or not?
2.) who is going to help run and judge the freestyle events?

1. I have to go to a wedding October 14. Cannot get out of it.
2. I have no eye for freestyle moves, but I can provide a video camera for instant replays/general tourney footage.

For me, at least.
This wedding is the only real obligation I have for the remainder of the year.

is everyone happy with the 21st then? okay well i'm counting on dustin, trey, lee, ben, etc. to run the freestyle show and to decide what events you want to have. i can take care of the reservations, site planning, & all things related to net.

anybody hear from the knoxville kids lately? not one made it to the AL tournament, and same thing for those no good manchesterites. they're closer than everybody else....except those in AL.
