The Hackrifice Open 2007: Sept 29th - 30th

Post by hacksterbator » 27 Aug 2007 08:39

Yup, It's that time again!!!

The 9th Annual Hackrifice Open

Date: September 29th - 30th

Location: Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada

Events:
Freestyle: Open and Intermediate Shred 30, Sick 3, Big 1
Informal Routines: Didn't perform the way you wanted to at worlds? Now is the chance to start working on next year's!

Net: Singles and Doubles (Net will be held depending on how many enter)

Accomodations: We're gonna try to make this as cheap as possible! Last year i believe Kevin Regamey spent only $20 for his entry fee. The Hackrifice Family will be putting up all of our guests in our own homes. just let us know when you're comming and how long you're staying!

Schedule:
Friday, Sept 28th: Arrive + Jam
-People arrive, those who need picking up will be picked up and chauffered in style by an-grizzle taxi service, just tell me where and when!
-a late night University of Manitoba/ The Forks Jam, we'll figure it out when people get here.
-Strech, Ice, ibuprophen, sleep.

Saturday, Sept 30th: Competition*
-Wake, Shower, Eat, Shred
-Registration: 12pm at The River Osborne Community Center
-Warm Up
-Competition's will start @ aprox. 2pm
-More Shred

-Home, Shower

-Roll Out

-Players Party
*** Edit***
Let's face it, Hackrifice is ballin'! Doing it up in style at the Mansion again. "Beverages" will be provided... untill the keg runs out!

-Prizes Awarded

Sunday, October 1st: Shred and Such
-Wake, Shower, Eat
-Shred @ the ROCC or the Forks (We'll cross that bridge when we get to it!)
-Head home and back to the "real world".

Music: As per usual, Live Dj's will be gracing the deck for saturday afternoon.

***Edit***
Our Resident Hackrifce DJ's will be returning:
-Dj Dexx (sweet name!)- Hip-hop, Battle Breaks, Dub Step, Jungle, Dn'B
-Dj Polly- Hard London Style Breaks
-Dj Domain- House, Mash-Ups, Funky Breaks
-Oliver Klozov- House, Pop Breaks
-Maybe some more surprises?!?!?!

*We had trouble getting our venue again this year, so same as last year, we have no indoor venue. Pray for sun. If it rains, we're fucked, so bring an extra 6 bucks and we'll go to the Y or something in that event.

If you plan to make it out, let us know so we can figure out how much pasta to cook and who you'll be crashing with.

If you would be streching your wallet to make it out, then dont bother! Save your cash for next year and our 10th anniversary bash, 'cause we're gonna do it up proper!!!!

i may be able to make this! I am going to Lake Louise (sp?) in Alberta for work the first week of October and work agreed to let me add the Winni section on!

I would be arriving in Winni on the 28th and would leave on the 30th at 6:50 pm. I will need a place to crash!

I will post back when I get the flight confirmed. I hope this goes through!

PS: I will be donating a bag to the comp and may have a few extra to sell or something.

So here is a list of people who I'm pretty sure are attending. I think this list should be bolded and put up on the first post:

-Andrew Grant
-Derek Vandall
-Erik Chan
-Jess Archer
-Josh Wayborn
-Manna ..

-Byrin Wylie (Edmonton)
-Rory Dawson (Edmonton)
-Mike Faille (Toronto)
-Adam Greenwood (Toronto)
-Andrew Dunford (Iqaluit)
-

Anyone I'm missing so far?

I have a couple of beds, so that's cool. And a couple of couches too. Anyone is welcome, if they need space. Mike Faille and Andrew Dunford have dibs on beds, if they want. Hooray!

I have a pair of red lavers size 10, near new, that will be a bit too big after mods. I have not even cut the toe box. I was wonderiing if anyone who is attending Hackrifice would want to buy them? I got them new for almost $80 Cdn and would be willing to let them go for $40.

Someone please post back if interested. If I get any takers, i will bring them down.

If you catch me staring at your body parts looking a bit confused whilst at the tournament, don't be fazed. It's because I have an anatomy midterm the tuesday after hackrifice. Just kindly remind me, "Rory that's my pelvis." and you'll have just helped me on my way to an A.
