The Official Host Hotel is the Hyatt Regency McCormick. It is a luxury hotel at a special discount rate. The hotel is connected to McCormick Place the event is just a short walk through an indoor tunnel each day. The price with tax will be under $100 per night, but the normal rate is over $300.

You need to call them directly, and to get the special rate you NEED to ask for "Reservations" and mention "Holiday Sports Festival"...oh, and if you want a good view, ask for a high floor facing north!... so here is the contact information:

K sweet, thanks for the north side comment;

Is the footbaggin a free event¿? I'm intermediate player so i don't fall into a beginner or or the advanced sections of the tournament... I pretty much suck, but i can hit pdx mirage, whirl, & other small staff.. So i probably won't compete, i would watch/play/learn unless there is something i could do..

thanks guys

hey swizzle, if this is anything like the previous nyj's i recall there being intermediate and advanced sick 3, and sick 1 along with a consecutive comp for beginners. i also recall there being an entry fee (edit: for competing), but it was a reasonable price.

ps. save me some floor space in the CIC suite, please. previous years i have shared a room with 3 or 4 different people, but id rather get in on some bacon this year. thanks in advance, CIC.

pps. donating bags for the competitions, scott. if theres anything i can help with, let me know.

The event is always free to come to, but if you plan on competing there may be an entry fee. Normally competing is free as well, but this year NYJ might be combined with midwest regional and that I believe is an IFPA sanctioned event with a cash prize. So again, there may be a fee for competing.

k sounds awesome, ill probably end up competing in something since their is an intermediate freestyle, hopefully i won't embarass myself too much :oops:

Yeah also what holly said; is it 100$ a night in a room by yourself? or could you share a room; i don't know anyone but id rather sleep on the floor anyways, i almost always do in hotels. and if would be cheaper than id be all for it....

Hi everyone!

It is going to be IFPA sanctioned this year, as the NYJ is also hosting the 25th Midwest Regional Championships concurrently. The 25th MW Regionals is the event that will be sanctioned.

Just to be clear... the Holiday Sports Festival is a FREE event, and we have the New Years Jam which is also a FREE event, and in the NYJ is the 25th MW Regionals is an IFPA Sanctioned event that will be FREE for Novices, but Intermediates and Open players will have fees like $15/$25 per player and should include a shirt. Open/Pro will have Prize Money events.

I'll post again when I have the schedule up at Footbag.org.

Jon, can you start a "confirmed" list? It's always really fun to see the list grow as the event gets closer.

I'd like some dibs on some floor space, and some of those pancakes and bacon.

And if Nathan is making them, I'd like some blueberries on them as well since he has such gentle hands. :wink:
