Yess. Per tradition I was waiting for someone else to start the NYJ thread this september. Though Holly's here now, so I dunno if it counts :-p

The dates for Chicago Sports Fest (the event that we're a part of) are December 18-19 this year.

We don't set the dates, they do. Originally I was disappointed because it's not right before New Year's as usual, and i thought people would be less likely to come, busy with work or school, but some people I asked about it said they'd still be able to make it. Please write in here if you could come those dates.

Last year was only 2 days too, instead of the usual 3. I want to get an extra day of the shred room, but that proves difficult with the hotel not wanting to rent the conference center for a good rate until last minute. but if we can get an extra day would the monday after (week before xmas), or the friday before be better?

The event is in the hotel, which is definitely where you'll want to stay.

I believe it's called the McCormick place Hyatt or something. I'm sure more info will be coming.

Yeah. Staying at the McCormick Place Hyatt is the way to go. Its connected to the exhibition hall/conference center where the event is, plus in all the previous years there have been discounted rates - just mention the Chicago Sports Fest when registering for your room. I don't have any confirmation on the rate yet, but here are some links for more information, for now:

Hotel

Sports Fest site

Transportation/directions:

So basically all the logistics are really easy. Get to Chicago, get your room situation worked out with some of the awesome people that we have every year, and you're all set!

Yep, it is official...
The dates are 18-19, but we are going to find a way to add the 17th. We are committed to shredding on the 17th (somewhere), so plan on it!

Myself & Steven (and very likely the entire toledo contingent that made it last year) are planning on coming.
Well, consider myself a definite at least, lol.
I have an exam in the afternoon on friday so Ill prolly arrive late that night, hopefully in time for shred.
If it bleeds over until monday thats cool, but id rather only pay for 3 nights in the hotel.
Someone should start a facebook thing because the rest of toledo doesnt check modified, lol.

I think that adding the 20th instead of the 17th (for the extra shred day) is much better for all the students. Lots of us end school really close to the 17th. Only my opinion :).

I'm down for either day. Getting space is the only obstacle. Let's hear from some more people.

either day sounds good to me.

im going to be booking a hotel room soon. currently extra spaces are open, but id love to hear more people who would need crash space.

if anyone is coming early or late for the event, i have enough space for 3 people on couches, and probably 4 or 5 for the floor (there will be a hackoff for who gets the extra space in my bed .. TOTALLY KIDDING KIDS) I live out in the suburbs but i have a car that can seat 5.

now that things are official... ill be updating the first post soon. if anyone has any donations/ideas/questions feel free to shoot them on here, to tom (flurry), to scott (the enlightener), me, or nathan (frank sinatra).

this is gonna be so freaking awesome!!!! barely over 2 months away! HYPE HYPE HYPE
