London Footbag Gathering (Aug. 26th to 28th)

Post by Johnny » 27 Jul 2011 15:32

Hello footbaggers,

Zach Forth and I are organizing a footbag Jam, and we'd love if you could come! Dates have been finalized as August 26-28th. Please email me at john.suderman at gmail.com with the time of your arrival, so that I can accommodate you to the best of my ability!

I will try my hardest to keep everyone comfortable but you can help out IMMENSELY by bringing your own pillow, towel, tent and sleeping bag if at all possible! No joke...

It looks like there will be quite a few people showing and were excited to see everyone again! The main goal of this weekend is to have a great time and to reunite! Zach and I will be working on arranging another event in the fall which will be sanctioned and offer a more competition based environment for those who are interested...

Crash space: Yes (air mattress, couch, bathtub, floor, inTENTS)
Events: Yes (informal circle, request, sick 1/3)
Prize Money: food money

Getting Around...

Crash space to Beer Store: ~4 min walk
Crash space to Park: ~15min walk
VIA to crash space: ~17min walk
Greyhound to crash space: ~20min walk
Crash space to Grocery: ~20min walk
Crash space to LCBO: ~20min walk

I'm going to try to have a few bikes kicking around to make getting out and about a bit smoother, and we should be able to splurge a bit and have free drinks at least one night.

I'm going to work on having a selection of nice and unusual footbags for sale.

Don't be afraid if you don't kick anymore (coming more and more of the norm for people whom I know through footbag...) just come anyway!

Ontario kickers, please help spread the word!

Please email me if you have any questions or concerns!

Confirmed:
Doug Tank
Jorden Moir
Adam Greenwood
Cassy Taylor
Dante Diotallevi
Zach Forth
Johnny Suderman
Manna Mpepo
london locals

Maybe:
Erik Chan
Nathan the champ
Justin Hall
Jean-Philippe
other Montrealers?!

Thanks,
Johnny and Zach.

update aug 23rd
625 Elias Street - home base use SIDE entrance to left of house marked 625 1/2 plz
McMahon Park is a spot we can kick that is close to home base.
Carling Heights Community Centre- our rain venue however, weather permitting I would much rather be at...
Victoria Park- This is our main shred location for Saturday. We'll be kicking by the band-shell in the centre of the park.

For everyone planning to show up Friday night point your GPS to 625 Elias Street, London, Ontario, N5W3N5.

The schedule so far is pretty tentative so if you're going to be showing up in the middle of the day saturday or something like that, you would be better off calling me at 519-771-3230 or emailing john.suderman@gmail.com. I'll have my phone on and with me at all times.

I would spend some time making a more rigid schedule, but chances are it wouldn't be accurate and everything would run late. However I would imagine events will start no later than 6pm, sat. I would much rather just go with the flow and do what everyones into at the moment. Kapeesh? When in doubt call me.

Thanks,
Johnny and Zach

I can definitely make end of August dates. September is very unlikely. Hope you have better beer in London than in Montreal...

Bummer. Are you free any day the weekend of the 27th? Friday-Sunday?

Okay, leaning towards the August dates, unless there is a swarm of people who can't do it.

I have a few surprises up my sleeve for people who plan on attending!

Anywho... what's up Montreal, FAT ?

I can't make the August dates, but I'm sure I could come by for at least a day of september. So many conflicts, the humanity!

Hey cassy, could you grab me on your way through Toronto? I can come meet you up at the 401. If you have a full car and someone from further east needs a ride, give it to them...I don't mind bussing it.

P.s. Where do you reside janis?

Hey, I'm living near Carlisle!

If there is any possibility of getting a lift that would be so amazing! More than happy to pay for the gas :)

Okay so far I have Adam and Nathan in my vehicle. Janis, if you can make it somewhere near the 401 I will happily pick you up on the way as well. That leaves one more space up for grabs in my vehicle.

The dates say 27th to 29th, does that mean its going from saturday to monday? I was planning to show up on the 26th.
