Great Lake Area Shred Symposium - GLASS
I felt that a proper announcement was way overdue so here goes:
Shredders from ALL areas are invited to come to beautiful Toronto, Ontario to jam at the first ever Great Lake Area Shred Symposium.
WHEN: February 4th - 6th, 2005
WHERE: Toronto, Ont. venue TBA
WHAT: There will be oodles of big shred sessions of course! Nothing is set in stone as far as competing goes, thus the inspiration for the poll at the top.
We will *likely* be setting up a host hotel arrangement, but that is mostly dependent on what size crowd we can draw.
We have a booming fresh new scene in Ontario and we felt that this jam would be a good way to pull together shredders. The hope is that people from all over, not just Ontario, will come and have fun.
So mark your calendars everyone! This will surely be an event NOT to be missed!
Cheers

I say FUCK having a venue!!
Day one of Chilly Philly kicked so much ass and it was all spur of the moment.
That being said, we were on yankee turf and they don't get winter down there. It will be FUCKING COLD during GLASS and so just busting outside isn't as achievable as it was in Philly.
Something will be locked down.
What is for sure is that EVERYONE SHOULD COME!!!
This will be a great time I sweeaaar!
MASS FUN WILL HAPPEN OR MY NAME ISN'T TOM MOSHER!
So who thinks they can come?

haha, thanks tom. and up untill 2 days ago i would have come. our kitchen manager was fired and i am basically taking over, but with out the title, recognition or salary (but i'm getting a nice sized wage increase ) and i can't take any time off untill a new km is appointed it's pretty balls... where's the balls emoticon?mosher wrote:I would LOVE it for you to come Andrew Grant! you're such a rock star.

Aw that sux Andrew, I was hoping u'd be able to come...
Well, at least the venue is coming along nicely... We are working on it, and it's looking like we might get a room at Hart House at U of T for free. If not for free, then probably for a small fee. It turs out that if you have a club at U of T (which Andrew does, he started the U of T footbag club last year), then u can rent out a room for events.
So........ hopefully that works out.... but if not, Johnny and I were discussing that we always have a backup--- that place we played for Erik's bday! It's not the biggest spot, but it's still awesome shred space, and I love playing there. I'm not sure how many people are coming, but we could fit a good 20- 30 people in that general area....
So either way, we have a place to play.
And this jam is in downtown Toronto, in case u didn't figure that out.
Who needs crashing space? That's something important that we should start figuring out now.
I'm really looking forward to this
And Jon is better! Yay!

That was a pretty weak excuse Andrew. You'll have to try way harder than that to get me off your case. I am still looking forward to seeing you in a month, don't let me down.
That's great to hear that we have a place to play!
The Erik Chan BDay Jam spot is a sweet backup spot, we're hooked up for sure. Good work Camille.
