I vow to get that elusive drifter down!! damnit

*Ok I decided to edit the first post here...and Introduce myself!

I'm Ryan, 22, I've been shredding for 3 weeks' now, and played hack prior to this for approx 3 years, just kickin it around with buddies, now that I've found this, and been consumed, it's all over for me, haha

I've been checking videos', got in touch with a shitload of cool people that are teaching me a lot, so much encouraging, it's so heartwarming :D

anywho, I'll keep you and me updated, so one day when I can actually hit some cool shit, I can look back and say wow! haha

peas!

Drifters are a wicked trick.

Have you checked out many other footbag sites Ryan?

Well.. I suppose that is a stupid question, you seem like a go-getter.

check out www.hoodshouse.com for alot of good info.
and www.flipsider.com or www.hackrifice.com for lots of trick demos.

Good call on starting up the blog.

Hey man, drifter is such a tricky trick... I dont really spend too much time working on them yet since they are soooo frusterating. Try Dada curve it would probably be a good start (its almost the same motion but you catch the bag behind your planted leg instead of in front of it, the trick is easier and feels cool to hit). I hear some people frown on the dada curve, but dude, they are slick, give it a try!!!!!!!!

for sure man...it's nice when you almost get it, but when you actually land it, get the delay, and kick it back up and catch it nice and controlled, it's just so much better....

My advice to you is to forget about all three add tricks until you can hit most all of the two adds. You should at least be able to hit 10 alternating clippers back to back, have both sides both ways around the worlds, and toe/clipper set mirages/illusions and legovers/pickups. When you can hit all of these tricks and string them together, then worry about 3 add moves. It is way too hard to hit a nice drifter if you don't have mirages and clippers dialed. While you may hit this move, the control will ultimately come from becoming solid on your foundation.

I would rather watch a guy string 25 tiltless then watch him hit a single 5 add move to hand catch. The more you work fundamentals the quicker you will progress. Sure you may not hit a 3 add move for several months, but when you do you will learn a whole bunch of them quickly and very soon after you will be stringing them.

Good luck to you in freestyle. It is a very fun and rewarding sport.

yeah that was my first post I didn't really realize how hard the drifter is, haha

so I've been working on both sides atw, and my clipper's lately...

I need to get a good pair of laver's tho...then need to practice more..

I'm gonna attempt to shred with Johnny tommorow, or at least learn a thing or two
