Double Legover/Mixer (DLO)

Post by Senor Grommet » 09 Dec 2004 19:02

Double Legover/Mixer (DLO)
SET > OP IN [DEX] > OP OUT [DEX] > SAME TOE [DEL]
http://www.hackrifice.com/moves/3dlo.wmv

toe set just below waist high. Plant the setting foot as fast as you can while maintaining body control. Lift the first dexing leg into mirage position as soon as your setting leg hits the ground and then jump hard off of the planted leg. With your second dex leg (the one off which you jump), lead with your heel as you do a legover and scoop the bag up.

Thats all I got.

Try to keep your legs close together as well and try and keep facing in the same direction - rather than twisting around at all. This is a style thing - it is easier if you spin a little away from the bag but in my opinion it isn't as clean.

Also drill symple legovers - this will help for dlo a lot! Da da curve might also help but make sure your last dex is clean.

i like to keep my shit tight, B.
by that i mean trying to maybe put tension in your leg muscles as you are doing the dexes in order to bring your legs up higher and make the move feel a bit tighter and crisper perhaps
im not sure if i actually do it right but it would be nice :)

I just think about the legover and throw my first leg over without even thinking about. Set, spot the bag, and now leading with the miraging leg but not even thinking about it focus on getting the second leg over and under.

Lift your both knees as high as you can.
That makes the legover part styley as hell.

Do what jeremy says and practice those symple legovers. They are harder to catch than regular legovers, and in dlo it is a symple legover.

quoting "ana_ali" "Lift your both knees as high as you can.

Agreed, raise both those knees up high to give you time to get over the bag. As Brad says - "Float"

Edit : Interesting , it won't let me quote correctly.

I really think the key to hitting your FIRST FEW of ANY trick is to MINIMIZE THE TIME SPENT ON THE SET. Meaning: set the bag from toe as quickly as you can while keeping it accurate. Toe set up and bring that shiznit down as fast as you can. BEFORE the bag even reaches its peak, you should be starting your dexing for the dlo! I guarantee that if you try this and exectue the quick set correctly, you will hit DLO in your next session.

Are both dexes uptime in the DLO or is it only the first one? I can hit legovers BSOS in my sleep and my mirages are coming along nicely. I want to learn to DLO after seeing Shredzilla hit it from a clipper set in the Novice Sick 3 this month. Should I work on Symposium mirage first? Double dexes just seem impossible to me at this point.

i am pretty well getting the jist of both leg overs and mirages but i think if i refine legovers to a fine art like jeremy said then DLO should (should) just be a standard progression

Matt,
There is no Boyall in team, unless it is an All-Boy team. PM if you dont get it

If both dexes are uptime then thats sailing set, which is much harder than having the second dex downtime.
No it's not. Sailing is Pixie Atomic, DLO is Miraging Legover.

In DLO both dexes are downtime, or the first one may be more peaktime, but there's no uptime dex.
Crispy DLO from clipper is Stepping far Legover, from toe it's Quantum op Legover.

Or from toe it's pixie legover if you do a pixie set.

:? Pixie Illusion is nowhere near the same as Pixie Atomic.

Illusion is a downtime leggy trick, atomic is uptime (and mostly) hippy trick.

But in terms of jobs notations, it is correct.

Pixie illusion - the pixie is a SET and the illusion is a DOWNTIME COMPONENT

Sailing set - BOTH dexes are SETS - PIxie atomic.
