Net Cities

Post by Elliott » 14 Oct 2004 12:00

i have been trying to compile a list of cities in North America that have net teams. i can't believe that there are so few net clubs! The activity level of these clubs varies widely, but as far as i can tell they still exist. so if you know anything on any of these clubs, or your net club was excluded please post some information about your club.

1.) Chaos - Oakland, California
2.) Air-a-zona - Phoenix, Arizona
3.) D.C. All-stars - District of Columbia
4.) Team Net Wrecker - Philly, Pennsylvania
5.) Houston Skyliners - Texas
6.) Dallas Footbag Club - Texas
7.) Association Quebecoise de Footbag - Montreal, QC.
8.) Kitsilano - Vancouver, BC.
9.) Memphis Footworks - Tennessee
10.) Sporque - Nashville, Tennessee
11.) Sound Footwork - Seattle, Washington
12.) Hackrifice - Winnipeg, Manitoba
13.) Toronto Foobag Club - Ontario
14.) Illinois Footbag League - Chicago, Illinois
15.) North Portland Renegades - Oregon
16.) OOPS! Footbag Club - L.A., California
17.) Quebec City Net - QC.
18.) Edmonton Footbag - Alberta

The net players that were part of the club still play. Maybe one of them will find their way to this forum and be able to tell you more than I know.

I went to the hackrifice open in winnipeg and there was a net comp. My cousin got first in intermediate and second in doubles (with andrew grant!).

so, it's down to 13 cities then. does anybody know anything else? i would really like to move to a city where net actually exists. in the past, i have built net teams from scratch, but i don't think i have the patience for that again.

yes yes, i know that Montreal & Oakland have the largest net scenes (crazy nick). however, i am more curious about the smaller clubs for some reason. i have no idea where i will wind up come fall of 2005; it all depends on the job prospects, but footbag is a close second. i don't kow nick, Montreal? i prefer to play net outside, not sure if i could grow accustomed to those long winters.

Heya,

Edmonton Alberta, has a net scene (and takraw), we dont play as often as people leave the scene, but we are always up for some net. I also believe Calgary is gone (as per shaun).

Cheers

i have heard about Chicago and Portland scenes before. i thought they were dead; i have not been able to find any club listings for either city. at the last few midwest regionals they have not even had net competition. i figured net was buried in Chicago. and Portland is so far away from me i may never know.

well its definitely true that the scenes there are greatly diminished but there are still great players in both towns and they are just one or two players away from being viable clubs again. If you choose either of those places you just might be the spark that rekindles a great club. :D

Not really a team but besides the Net Wrecker's in Philadelphia, it's decently popular among my friends during the spring, summer, and fall.
