um... as an unbiased observer to this humourous (is that spelt right?) event, i would like to say, yes, finland is perfect.Blackend wrote:And, as I recall, Finland isn't perfect, either.
They have amazing beer (KARHU, KOFF, LAPIN KULTA), and it comes in american strenght (III) and Finn Strenght (IIII, A).
They drink some crazy ass version of vodka called, 'kosker' something, and they dont even call it vodka, its just booze
The finnish women are the most beautiful women in the world, bar none.
And.. Estonia is like 5 minutes away, and you can rob the place blind its so cheap and not feel bad
Yes, Finland is likely the most perfect place.

I've played 7 (100) since my last entry. I played every day last week
. I don't think I've ever played 7 times in one week.
I changed my sig so that blackend can sleep at night not having to worry about coming up with yet another witty insult to throw on my face. Just kidding blackend, I love you. But not the way you'd like me to
.
I'm gonna have a few days off footbag now, 'cause I'm gonna go camping to Lake Bodom. It's mostly famous of a triple-homicide that went down back in the 60's. The murder trial is back on now and it's the hottest thing in the tabloids now. That guy is like the Finnish O.J.
.
My friend has a mobile home and we're going with that. Two days of caravan life, relaxing and drinking beer with other bums. Sounds like good times. I might go to Helsinki and get a new pair of Brooks Beast net shoes. I heard they're on sale.
Yeay, I just heard I got a "job" I was kind of applying for. It's a part of my school to have a work practise. I'm actually going to do it for my school, there's this computer support service for citizens. I'm gonna work there. The other job option I got was to go to a phone company to install broadband connections to people. This is a lot better job and a lot more versatile as well.
LAter.

Ben, you sick fuck.
I've played 5 times (105) since my last entry. I'm feeling really confident about my singles game. Doubles is good as well, though my spikes are little rusty.
Lets see, what else is new. My trip to Lake Bodom was relaxing. I guess that sums it up pretty good.
My good friend Maave had a goodbye party, she's going to Spain as an exchange student. That was one crazy party involving a crying journalist, me having Maave's handbag and getting thrown out of the club because I looked suspicious with a handbag, me being tailed by a bouncer, a lot of pizza, a lot of other food, 8 episodes of Friends, afterparty until 9 pm., Maave falling down on her bike, lost bikes, strong punch, and whatnot
.
I started my job last week. It's a fun job, though the hours aren't so hot and the pay is... well lets just say I work for food. I also started a diet, again. I haven't eaten candy in more than 2 weeks and I'm trying to eat healthier overall. And now that the summer is over, I activated my gym card again. I told them to freeze my card for the summer. They don't normally do that, but I told them I was moving to San Francisco. They then agreed
.
Yay, my girlfriend booked us and two other people tickets to London on Dec 8-12. We spotted this great deal on Ryanair and decided to go for it. It was ridiculously cheap, 42€ there and back

I've played only three times since my last entry. Two of them were in the Sun City Spike last weekend. It was a fun, small tournament with 6 teams in doubles and 9 players in singles. That's the smallest turnout in years in any Finnish event. That was totally okay, since we just wanted to have more net tournaments in Finland. We didn't really organize it too much, it was more like a gathering than an event. The competition was still firece. I played doubles with Oskari, with whom I always play with. We won our pool relatively easily. The opponents weren't playing poorly, we were simply playing really, really well. In semis we played against Sakarias & Iisak Liukko. We won in two games. In final we played against Janne Uusitalo & Tapio Karhunen (they were 3rd in Finnish Open last year). We won the first game, and lost the second. In the third one, we got an early lead, and they couldn't recover from the shock. We won the match and the title
.
Singles were played the next day. I was really looking forward playing against Janne Uusitalo. He's the current Finnish Champin singles. I played okay in pool, but I lost to Jaakko Inkinen. In semis I played against Jaakko again, and lost again
. I really wanted to beat him, but he was just playing so much better than me. Before the tournament I had a 2-0 record against him in the past few years, now it's 2-2. Jaakko played in the final against Janne Uusitalo. Janne hadn't lost to a finnish player in tournament in singles in the past year or so. but now he did. Jaakko outplayed him in three games making the 3rd game look easy. Here's the link to the results page in .org. There's a video and photos of the event, too. Check 'em out: http://www.footbag.org/events/show/1124035486
Now, there's going to be a little break from competition, since the next scheduled event I'm going to enter is in November. That's the Finnish Open, were me and Oskari are defending our doubles title. I'm really hoping my trip to Egypt isn't at the same time.

Sorry, I had to make that correction. I couldn't sleep knowing that Mohkale doesn't have all the necessary information.
BTW Opa, how is Tuke's operated knee doing? Is he gonna be okay by the time of Finnish Champs?

I've played 6 (114) times since my last update.
My work doesn't start until 10 am. but I still don't manage to get enough sleep. Why don't I just go to bed before 1.30 am. I'm dead tired right now. From now on I'll go to bed after Finnish BB and Conan at midnight. Unless I don't feel like it
.
I threw javelin and discus and put shot
in Tampere last weekend. Don't ask why. I also drank too much beer
. Am I ever gonna learn my limits? Or do I want to keep making a fool out of myself? My money is on the latter...

I've only played 3 (117) times but I want to play more.
A TV crew is coming to do a story of my workplace tomorrow. It's a "consumer awareness" program called "Kuningaskuluttaja".
I actually have another issue concerning consumer rights in my mind. My travel agent called yesterday saying: "Your flight to Egypt on Nov 11. has been cancelled due to lack of passengers. You can either get a full refund or take the next flight on Nov 15." And you fucktards let me know a month in advance!?!
Fuck you Aurinkomatkat! I can't take the next flight because it would return late on Nov 22. and I'm leaving to Finnish Footbag Open on Nov 24. That would leave me a grand total of 1 possible practise before defending the doubles title. That just won't do.
A full refund, fuck you. I've:
- saved money so I could go
- arranged my work schedule so I could go
- arranged all other timetables in my life to go
- really looked forward going
- REALLY, REALLY looked forward going
- already sent an angry e-mail telling I want compensation
Fuck you and your full refund, I'm never buying another vacation from that travesty of a travel agent ever again.
The only good thing is that now I can train more for the Finnish Open. I know me and Oskari really need to play a lot better than we have to win again.
This is my 8th week of not eating candy. I'm thinking I'm going to keep doing it until the Finnish Open is over. When it is, I'm going to eat a whole bar of
by myself. 14 weeks might not sound like much, but I love sweets and chocolate. I have actually lost some weight during the 8 weeks, which is always good for me.
