Northwest Folklife Festival Jam [crash space info!]

It's here again, folks, the Northwest Folklife Festival. The festival spans Friday through Monday at the end of May. Rain City Shred has been going out and representing each day during this festival for the past several years now. The festival is a BLAST. For the last two years Sole Purpose has come up and shred with us and I am fairly confident they are of the same opinion. ;)

For more information as to the festival, check the link above. Needless to say, it's the shitnik featuring a ton of art, food, vendors, and live music. The jam should include shred on any day that people show up and show interest. If people want informal competition, they will have it. We will do what is possible to kick out a player's party.

If it sways anyone, there will be plenty of crash space. Considering the likely amount of people that will attend, I would be surprised if anyone had to check into a hotel.

If anyone needs more information, feel free to PM me, e-mail Justin (j2dale at u.washington.edu) or myself (in my profile), or call myself at 2062832248 or 2062653902.

Good place to pick up girls, and some of them actually have their armpits shaven.

If you check the website, you will find out that it is in Seattle, WA.

Edit: Try and talk Daryl, Sunny, and Jim into coming! They would have a blast and get to shred with the rest of the Northwest scene that they belong to. ;)

If that's what it comes down to, you should haev no problem going. As far as I know, we've decided not to hold it this year...everyone is just too busy around that time.

What are your thoughts regarding Byrin's comment, Kevin? Hit me up on AIM or comment here, I don't really care. I am very enthusiastic about the possibility of Edmonton attending.

:(

I guess I'll just have to send James an e-mail and see if I can sway him.

Thanks anyway, Nasty. See you in November or maybe in Portland if luck would have it.

alright guys, it's getting close. at todays session we've decided on a "player's party" we're thinking saturday shred at alki beach followed by a bonfire/bbq on alki, then back to my place(different than last year) to party and crash for the night then sunday shred at the festival. sound good? schedule is open to suggestions if anybody has any. now that it's getting close we'd like to get a list of who's coming. so far we have dylan confirmed, there will most likely be a few people up from olympia as well. who all from portland's coming? edmonton? missoula? vancouver bc?

So here's the straight dope on what's up with Folklife.

The festival runs Friday through Monday, 26th-29th. As it is we expect most people to show up either Friday night or Saturday morning and take off Sunday night. Going off this assumption the plan is to on Saturday have a shred session followed by a barbeque at nearby Alki beach, followed by a party at Scott's house. We will have a keg. We will have a sound system. We will get funky. Then, on Sunday we'll be at the actual Folklife Festival all day long where people can enjoy what the festival has to offer and shred to their heart's content. If we have any light hearted competition it will take place on Sunday.

Current Confirmed Attendees:

-Dylan Fry
-Nick Landes
-Red Husted
-Noah Jay-Bonn
-James Randall
-Seattle
-The Brothers From Different Mothers and the rest of Olympia
-Jim Penske (probable)

People I best see or they'll be catching my fury!! ... Grr!

-Allan Haggett
-Idaho

People who I would like to come but understandably probably can't:

-Missoula
-Edmonton

EXPECT a good time!
