I probably won't buy any of the systems. My roommate has an XBox 360, an most of my friends are XBox fans. Some are PS fans, but NONE are Nintendo fans. I was actually shocked to read the replies in this thread.

Shocked in the way that I haven't heard anyone else say that they were excited about Nintendo's new system. Most people around where I live think it's stupid and that it will plunk. But I haven't been following video games for a few years now.

Xbox360: Price is a limiting factor... But it seems to have decent support. I've heard of issues with it... If those don't get fixed, then it's goign to cost them money.

PS3: I want to say it's goign to succeed.... But I can't... I don't know what's goign to happen with it... The price is going to be the first nail in the casket... It better get on board with some good games at launch...

Wii:It wins because of price. Big iconic names on opening, and interesting controller... I think this is what peiople will go for. Welcome back Nintendo.

First off, just to let you all know. I'm back, part time. Someone reformed. Quit my shitty job, am now engaged to my fianc'e, Tamaran, and I'm doin' good. Now... back on topic.

The Nintendo Wii.

All the REALLY needs to be said on this subject is, Zelda. However, I am of course going to delve deeper into this.

The Wii, is basically just a giant harddrive. It has online support for it's gamming through WiFi, and is 100% completely backwards compatable through downloading games from previous Nintendo systems and very low and affordable prices. 007 Golden Eye from the 64 for some online play anyone? Could happen, maybe not, we'll see I guess.

The graphics are upheld to the same standards set by Microsoft. So, judging Wii's graphical ability can be done by looking at the 360's BEST games... That's what you will see on the Wii, because Nintendo is DEFINANTLY about quality, not quantity. Soo many old school titles... Anywho.

The controller, omg, ingenious. This contoller is going to have Nintendo grabbing Microsoft by the balls... The only game that will ever be able to step up to Nintendo's revolutionary controller will be Halo 3, because this is a given, that Halo 3 will rape some serious ass. Other than that, Nintendo will very soon be absorbing FPS gamming contract deals from left and right, absolute beutiful controller for FPS. Some of the best motion sensor technology in the world is used in this controller. If you leave the controller on the carpet like 20 feet away, and turn on you speakers, and they are loud enough to make just VERY VERY VERY tiny vibrations, not even noticable by you, the controller actually picks up those vibrations and you can see it on screen. Can't wait to use it.

The price, $250, that's a sweet ass deal. Definantly getting a Wii the day it comes out. Oh, btw, it's more like... 5-6 cd cases in height...

The XBox 360.

Microsoft rules the online gamming world, and there is no way anyone will rip it from them. Kinda like how Nintendo rules the portable gamming world, and no one, not even Sony, was able to step up and take a peice of it for themselves. PSP Got assrapped. Anywho, online gamming undisputedly goes to Microsoft.

Graphics, very good graphical abilities. Above this gen's expectations for next-gen consoles. COD2, great game. Ingame graphics for Halo 3 were... astonishing, the dust/dirt that flies in teh wind bounces off his leg for christ's sake... Outstanding.

Controller, why change something that was aleady perfect? (Wii controller >>> 360 Controller however.)

Price... Well... I wanna say it's worth 400... but it's not. They should've went 350 for pro, 250-300 for core... 400's ALOT for a gamming system.

GayStation 3.

Graphics... the best. Better than most top of the line pc games.

The controller, wow... look... it's EXACTLY the same as it was before... Analogs still in uncomforatble positions... buttons still in a square like manner, L1 and R1 still uncomforatble (Triggers like on Xbox controllers are better.), not getting rumble features, had to copy Nintendo RIGHT after Nintendo revealed their controller... I could go on, but I can't stand thinking about this shitty, ass, controller... It's crap. Sony needs to invest in originality... or some brain activity that atleast is = to that of a bar of soap.

Backwards compatability, 100%, who cares? PS1 games = crap, no home games were created for Sony. PS2 = Sports games... Nothing else... Cept for FF... And I'm not paying for a PS2 so I can play FF... Which really wasn't THAT great anyway. Zelda >>> Cool Ranch Doritos >>> FF.

Oh, and a side fact... Sony had to lie about ALLLLLLLL of their E3 '05 "ingame non-prerendered" preveiws of their games like Killzone. You know why? Because non of the PS3 games work(ed) on the PS3. IDK if that's still true, but even at E3 '06, they could'nt get a single one of their games to work properly on the system... Why put out a release date, if you can't even get your games to play correctly? This is from G4TV btw, this is not opinionated bullshit.

The price. *Laughs* Let's just say I'm not getting a PS3 untill after the NEXT gen comes out, lmao. 600 bucks? No thanks, I'll go pay money to watch paint dry instead. My top of the line pc cost me only 1200, and it's way way way more of a bargain than that PS3... which will break down just like every system does at launch. (All systems have massive problems at launch date... that's the curse of the console world.) I'm sorry, but when I buy a car at 25000, or a pc at 3000, it doesn't break down or just NOT work at all simply because the first batch were test versions... If you're going to sell me somthing for 600 fucking dollars, you BEST be making sure it works the way it is supposed to. They should have to start doing contracts to buy that 600 dollar bs.

Footbag>Wii>360>XBox>PC>GCN>Cool Ranch Doritos>Compressed sand out of a camel's ass>PS3>PS2>PSP>PS1>Nothing.

I heard games from Rare aren't goign to be included because someone's being a fucker between the two.

Because that contoler is bigger than some children I don't want a controller that's that big. But that's more of a personal preference.
Price... Well... I wanna say it's worth 400... but it's not. They should've went 350 for pro, 250-300 for core... 400's ALOT for a gamming system.
The price alone turned me off to it.

PlayStation 3
Graphics... the best. Better than most top of the line pc games.
Can't say that if they can't game running properly, can we?
The controller, wow... look... it's EXACTLY the same as it was before... Why ruin a good thing? That's the best damned controller for fighting games next to the sega 6 button one. I'll admit though... the analogs were crap, and they will, sadly, continue to be crap. The triggers really are only in a few milimeters different in position compared to the xbox/360. I don't see how that's really affected by it too much. But that's mainly a personal preference thing.
Wii, kthxbai. With the backwards compatibility, comes the roots of gaming for that system. Example, Nintendo's(traditional) Super Mario Bro.'s seies. That provided a basis. Playstation's got Crash Bandacoot for the collect-the-god-damned-objects-all-over-the-map series, and Xbox has Halo for it's big roots game. Going back to these old games makes one feel nostalgic. About PS1 games sucking... Castilvania: Symphony of the Night pwns your face off.
The price. *Laughs* Let's just say I'm not getting a PS3 untill after the NEXT gen comes out, lmao. 600 bucks? No thanks, I'll go pay money to watch paint dry instead. ... If you're going to sell me somthing for 600 fucking dollars, you BEST be making sure it works the way it is supposed to. They should have to start doing contracts to buy that 600 dollar bs.
The price blows. No doubts about it. But they're using a brand new technology(blu-ray). Go ahead and pay for watching paint dry... I'll go do something more productive, and cheaper, for that same amount of time.
Trust me, not all PC's that cost 2000+ dollars and cars costing $25,000+ work. Recalls, defective production, or just overall bad ideas can kill a product easily, even if the rest works well.

The PS3's going to be good, IF ( and only if) people can manage to get over the price hump. They'll have a set of established game serieses to work with (Gran turismo, Crash, FF, Resident evil, Rhythm games, and GRADIUS), and they'll use them, just like every other console manufacturer.

The 360's there for it's online capabilities. Mainly for FPS's, but there's bound to be more... Just as long as World of Warcraft doesn't port to it, I'll not not apeshit and destroy every single one I see.

The Wii's very innovative, and probably has the most to lose out of all of these consoles. Lets just hope everything works as planned with it.. Hell, I know I'm excited about these 2 upcoming consoles... Even though price is a huge problem with one. And I'm decently excited over the 360...

The reason the PS controller... sucks. Is because FPS is one of the most popular game genres today. Fighting games... are dying off really, and you can't argue that. They used to be super popular, and now, they're not. The X-Box controller is not to big... you just have a small penis.
lol, j/k. But really, it was designed for those Japanese kids to be able to play. Controller S... S = small, lol, I mean... LiL Poison, 6 years old, pro gamer for Halo 2 in the MLG tournies, can rape some serious ass and that kids like 3.5 feet tall, I'm not even kidding, he's TINY. The X-Box controller is PERFECT for FPS. The PS2 buttons are nothing like the X-Box 360's controller. The sholders are buttons. The 360's are triggers, with R2/L2 buttons. The tiggers can be slowy pushed down to create one effect, slammed down to create another, slowly released to create another, and it's more comforatable to most FPS gamers. Which is the height of the gaming industry. (Next to sports, but sport games are gay, go play the sport in real life you fucking nerds, lmfao...) And there's also that flat out plain fact that Sony steals other company's ideas (Wii's motion shtuff.), and they don't change ANYTHING... It's boring.

Sry, long unindented paragraph, lmao.

Yes... I have to agree that Castlevania was a good game... But it's not worth paying $600 to play, by any means. Nor is it worth paying that for FF, which is basically Sony's ONLY other good game. Crash Bandicoot was... fun, and funny, at times, but, no... It was a stupid game overall. Mario >>> Crash, ez. Sony just doesn't have ANY good games or good names... And I'm sorry, but sports games do NOT count because they appear on all systems... And there is NO difference between Madden 2006, and Madden 2005... Cept for $30 out of your pocket.

I only have one thing to say about Blue-Ray technology. (Which might not be used now for technical reasons, who knows though.) $80 games with bad gameplay and storylines. (I added in the bad gameplay and storylines, the main focus of this paragraph is the $80 part.)

I think Sony needs to get a grip on reality. This is a game console, not a PC. I can get a top of the line gaming PC for 600, maybe 700 bucks... With which I can play online on almost any game for free, with good online services, no lag, any controller that I want to use, while listening to music, while doing whatever I want.. It's a PC... Sony ONLY has a gaming console here... So why the fuck is the price 600?

Either way, I can't wait to hear people bitching about how it won't live up to it's hype.

Oh, ona personal note. I traded in my 2 xboxs, my xbox controllers, all the xbox games I don't like, my 3 EXTRA Halo 1s, my other extra Halo 2, all my Xbox 1 mem cards, xbox DVD kit (waste of money.), 2 of my extra Nintendo 64s, all but 4 of my N64 controllers, all but 1 of my N64 controllers, my PlayStation 1, it's mem cards, and all my PS1 games. Traded that all to EB Games and got my $400 360 for only $50, give or take 5. If I would've kept my 3rd X-Box instead of giving it to my friend Tony, I would've gotten that 360 for a maximum of like $5, lmfao.

The 360 pwns all at the moment, can't get enough of CoD2. Halo 2 still rocks your fucking socks too. I could care less if the PS3 gets better ratings, I know the 360 did a better job. But that's personal. I'm 100% all about FPS and RPG. 360 for my FPS, GCN for my RPG. Soon to be Wii for like 10-15% of my FPS, and my RPG too.

I hate Sony...

Peace,
Fred.

PS3 is going to do wonderfully, just because kids who were PS2 fans are going to expect it to live up to the other system's. Then later they are all gonna want 360's or wii's.

I've been a huge fan of old skool nintendo system's and the classic games that were created. I pretty well dropped Nintendo though once 64 came out and the cube wasn't that great in my eyes either. With that said you'd think I'd be joining some other bandwagon, but no. I was a fanboy of playstation and not as much with PS2. Xbox has had it's ups and a few great games, but other than that I have never cared for it much.

When it comes down to it, I want a system that has playability. A system that won't cost me an arm and a leg. A system that will be innovative in a positive light and create a deeper gaming experience. A system that is portable so I can play with my friends. With that said, you'd know I'm talking about the Wii. All of my friends are going to buy one and enjoy the hell out of it. We're getting older and don't game quite as much, but I think this will really bring back the old gaming spirit and let us just enjoy gaming how it should be. There are a lot of classic games that are coming back that I can't wait to see on this next generation. So many new concepts and ideas that look great for party games and such, I'm pumped. Anyways, wii ftw.

And I'd prolly put this in Kicking Circle. It's not that serious of a discussion, and most opinions for this thread would be viewed in the kicking circle.

I'm only getting a Wii because it's the only next Gen system. If you really think about it the Xbox 360 was only a little change from the Xbox and it goes with the PS3 too. The Wii went ahead and changed how we all could play games and Microsoft and Sony did nothing of the sort

I think I'll stick to my PC. It out performs the 360, so that'd sound like a bit of a downgrade to me.
