Another Philadelphian

Post by Footbag Forever » 20 Oct 2006 04:52

Hello! ^_^
I'm Carrie I'm relatively new to footbag. Been playing about a month and half. I just got Lavers like 2 weeks ago. :-D ummm yeah...so far I've hit:

clipper(both sides), mirage (both sides), same-side mirage, ATW(both sides), xbody rake, sole stall, pincher, legover, pickup...yeah that's prob about it.
I just hit osis 2 days ago for the first time and seem to be getting the hang of it. I'm also just starting to string a few tricks together now....so hopefully I'll be able to make some progress in that department.

So for now I'm working on getting everything a little more consistantly. I'm starting to work on hitting symposium mirage and double legover...but they're works in the making....hopefully in the next month?

Anyways anybody play in Philly? Would love to play with some new faces. I usually play with two friends from school (Drews and Tom). Drew and I started at the same time and Tom is basically our teacher. umm Drew and I play a few hours everyday n then we all meet up once or twice a week. It's been a lot of fun!

Yeah so I had like a 2 hours session today with Drew. It was pretty unproductive....I was hardly hitting anything. I DID however hit left symp. mirage which I was pretty excited about. I was also able to play without really getting tired which is always good...been working on building endurance. :) Hopefully tomorrow will be a little better...

Nothin special...but I remembered yesterday i hit 2 successful pendulums. Hooray for me! :-P
Umm didn't get a chance to play today. I've been sick with upper respiratory crap the past week or so, so my immune system has been shot. So as soon as i thought it was going away I started coming down with something else n my body's all achey so I didn't get a chance to play today. :( Hopefully tomorrow I'll be feeling ok enough to play for a little while.

:( I hope you're feeling better soon. We def need to be playing inside the Pavillion or somewhere, too much outside play is making us both sick :!:

So..today Drew and I had a 2 hour session. It was extremely frustrating but productive at the same time. I improved my right clipper (for awhile I've only been able to do left correctly). I also hit left xbd rake....that was freaking awesome! Other than that I wasn't really able to hit much.... :(
We both tried attempting a whirl but we were both sadly unsuccessful. *shrugs* oh well one of these days we're bound to get it.

that is all.
k bye.

mad props on that.

Haha, Carrie was saying earlier that day how ridiculous it is for someone to learn so many tricks within just 2 weeks of playing. the same day you land Butterfly (on your SECOND attempt!) multiple times! now THAT is ridunkulous :P Keep up the good work, your sticky note of tricks will soon turn into a full page(if it hasn't already!) :D

So tonight's session with Drew was relatively productive. I finally got my left clipper down pat. I was able to hit before, but not well. I could do a trick or 2 out of it n that was it. Now I can actually do a couple consecutive clippers; I have more of a rhythm now. :) I also hit a few more butterflies (that sounds kind of evil), clipper>legover, clipper>mirage>xbd rake
worked on whirl...again with no success. *shakes fist* one of these days damnit!...one of these days!

So another short session with Drew and Tom last night.
Hit butterfly a bunch, getting closer to whirl.
It wasn't really well lit where we played so it was a little hairy, but it was still a good night. Especially bc it was really warm yesterday so we were able to play outside!!! :) :) :) :) :) hooray!
Again nice day out today...hopefully we'll be able to kick outside again tonight!

Welcome!

Practicing mirage>legover rpt. will really help. Set a goal and then hit it that many times.

Sounds like your improving quickly, keep with it.

Played outside again today..it was a little chilly but way worth it! Inside sucks...and it get too hot too quickly...Anyways had like an hour session or so with Drew today. Tried paradox mirage for the first time and hit it successfully a few times. That was kind of kewl. Other than that I just practiced a bunch of stuff I've been doing, and putting together different combo's. I also played with my new bag which was nice..working on breaking it in...but it sure beats the sandbags I've been playing with! ^_^

So today it was absolutely beautiful outside! Played from 2:30 or so till 5:00-ish. Had an awesome session.
Hit butterfly>toe>symposium mirage>clipper
hit some flipside tricks...idk just overall hit more than usual without dropping. Felt good. Only downside is my knees started hurting after too many syposium mirages...:( oh welp. I'll take a days rest and try again monday!
:D
