300 grams of protein? Holy shit. Just wondering how much fiber you take in daily?Maraxus wrote:I'm an ectomorph, and was obviously so years ago.
With the help of the gym and consistency, along with 300g of protein a day, I'm more ecto-meso now. My metabolism still burns quick however, so if I don't eat enough of lift, I don't get fat, but skinny.
Personally I'm definitely an ectomorph. I used to try to lift weights regularly - right now everyone who's ever met me is laughing at that idea. Anyway, I have a really hard time putting on weight.
EDIT: I should say that I think this is a good thing for some freestyle tricks - symposium tricks for instance don't pose the risk of injury for me that they would for someone heavier.
Ectos can gain muscle the biggest problem is that they don't eat right. Were you eating 6 + meals a day with a least a gram of protein per pound of body weight? If not thats why you wasted your time at the gym.

I'm an ectomorph right now, and always have been (even though i'm only 15 years old). I'm trying to put on weight now because i'm 5'9'' tall and closer to being anorexic than average in my opinion because all of the sport I have played when I was a bit younger and not eating enough. I've got work experience for the next 2 weeks so i've planned to eat as much as possible in that period before I go back to school...somewhere over 3500kcal per day of all different foods and fruits is what i'm currently looking at.

I'm an ecto, and I work out regularly. I can generally eat whatever I want, and I don't gain any weight at all. I am in shape, and have weighed about 125 for the last few years. I don't think body type has much to do with it. Agreeing with what has been said before, it's all to do with genetics and diet, withexercise level. I just have a fast metabolism.

I must fit under 'ALIEN'. More realistically, I'm an extreme ectomorph.
Being ~6'3"(188cm) and around 125+-5 pounds (57+-2kg) puts me on the superthin end of the spectrum. Fat is barely there. Around 2% bodyfat. Puts me at around 16 or so BMI...
Oh, and I have a feeling that my bones are hollow on the inside and filled with helium. Doesn't make jumping any easier though...
Weight gain is pretty much impossible, while weight loss is...easier, but probably really bad for my health. I could probably lose another 15 or so pounds, but the result would be disastrous. Realistically, it doesn't matter if I work out or not. The only difference is that I build stamina slowly, but strength remains equally weak.
Footbag-wise, I find that doing tight dexes is hard due to my long limbs, however having a large window helps. When I try to do something, I tend to end up thinking of how to position myself to let me slip over the bag and generally move as little as possible. That helps as I have low stamina.
For example, legovers are pretty much a snap of the leg/ankle. To land a mirage, I tend to have to leap, or at least sidestep, over the bag instead of doing a tight and controlled dex with one leg, planting, and catching with the other.
I envy the shorter and fatter people quite a great deal, but there's at least one good thing about being this thin, which is that people constantly offer me food. If I were poorer than I am, I'd have little trouble finding food as even hoboes have tried to give me money in the past.

I guess I'm a Mesomorph because I am definitely not thin, gain muscles quite easily and I am not fat at all...
I always noticed that lots of shredders were much much thinner than me and I wondered whether this is an advantage for footbag but since I've met Ales (the crazy Czech
) I've absolutely changed my opinion ^^ ...I still do believe that it's helpful to be thin but everyone can gain speed and agility if he just puts enough effort into it...
Keep shreddin

sorry but you seem to forget that genetics are responsible for your bodytype, as well as the metabolism which is connected to it. ectos dohave a fast metabolism, and endos do have a slow one. as it has been pointed out in this thread: http://modified.in/footbag/viewtopic.php?t=14905, being lanky is a huge advantage. now this is where the bodytype comes into play, an endomorph will never be lanky, because his bone structure gives him wide hips and shoulders, as well as thick thick limbs, nomatter how the diet looks. its very hard for him to reach a low body fat level and there are limits. of course you can workout... but footbag is a cardio sport, and cardio is naturally more exhausting for the endo cause he got more white muscle fibres than red ones, which is unchangeable. its like telling an ecto to take part in a weight lifting competition. you think that skinny guy gonna lift more weight than all the other fat hulks around him? i guess not. i mean its not like he wouldnt improve with training but the endo will always beat him cause he naturally got a lot of mass allowing him to lift a lot of weight. i think people dont see why it matters because they dont have to move a short thick 40 pound leg around the bag. would the top players be just as good with +30 pounds of fat on their bodies? dont think so. these are just my thoughts and you might criticize them. id really love to hear ales´s opinion.mizua_r wrote:... it's all to do with genetics and diet, withexercise level.

But I cannot be bothered changing my body shape, I'm just working on fixing my knees.
