I got a new footbag yesterday. Sewed by Antti :D It hasn't broken in much yet, but it seems promising.
I couldn't find the digital camera, so here's a webcam picture of the Virppabag next to a mr. Sandman:

I was having a session yesterday evening and this morning but it started to rain on both occasions and they ended up short...

I decided not to use my old routine songs at Finnish Champs. Need to find new one(s) and soon!

Yeah, my military service ended on wednesday. My military rank in the reserve is sergeant.
This means tons of more time for footbag. And time to find a job, etc...

I had an hour long session with the new VirppaBag today. It hasn't broken in much yet, but it's barely playable. I was just going through most of my game concepts, so nothing speacial about that. The bag is looking really good though.

Finnish champs in one week - and I still haven't got even a routine song.

Haven´t played or stitched for over week, my back is still killing me. My school also started last wednesday and sitting many hours doesn´t help my back to recover.

We had a session together today.
Antti was still having some troubles with his back and you could see that he hadn't played for almost two weeks, but still he hit a new trick: Ducking Osis. He also hit one of the challenges I gave him: Legover > Symp Mirage > Symp Mirage > rpt. And he also hit something else that I can't remember :D sorry
I didn't concentrate of anything particular. Had a couple of simple single tricks filmed for a video that I'm planning on making. It's not going to be a hard shred video, but anyway, I'll post it here when it's done.

Were going to have a session tomorrow as well, if the weather allowes it.

I played for about 15 minutes today, just to film a couple of shots for the rest of the video I was making. So the idea is that I wanted to do a footbag video to one of my armyfriends techno music (he's quite good). I tried to edit the footage to the music, but I got bored in the middle of the video. I'm happy with the start and end parts though. The shred is not hard, but a couple of decent single tricks and links make it worth posting here:

I found myself a routine song :) It's edited and ready to be burned on CD. It's more like a joke than a good routine song, but the beat is good.

Long time no blog...

Alright in the past three weeks pretty much all that has happened was the Finnish champs, but I bet you've already seen the videos, so been there, done that.

Me and Antti both made a footbag training plan for the near future. I'm planning on having four solo session per week for the next six weeks and drill, drill and drill certain components which change every other week. I'm pretty sure it'll improve my game, but it will be very boring and frustrating, I'm sure. We'll see. And I hope Antti can handle all those solo session by himself.

We had a session yesterday. It was a bit chilly outside, but the sport hall we usually use during winter isn't open yet, so we had to play outside.
Antti hit ss Symp Mirage > Symp Mirage > rpt for the first time. He footed it for camera a couple of times after that.
I hit Reverse Whirr for the first time. Hadn't tried it before and got both sides with about five tries. It feels weird, but fun. I also hit Pixie Everything for the first time.
Now I hunger for Atomic Everything :P

Hey hey hey, long time no blog. - again

We haven't played together for a long time, but today we did. Antti came over and we had a session in my shed.

We had a pleasant 3½ hour long skooling session, both doing basic stuff. Even though Antti hasn't been playing - YEAH HE'S LAZIER THAN A KOALA! - he still showed some improvement from what I recall last time we played together.
He hit Whirl x2 both sides for the first time and he hit it twice. He had a good average lenght on back2back Butterflies and Legovers. Tripwalk and Toe Blur for the first time.
I broke my Blurry Whirl record twice, now it's 16. And I tied with Grifter World Record (6), so you better watch out Jorden. Also I hit Ripstein x2 and Whirr x3 which shows further improvement on those tricks.
So yeah, Turku is still alive and breathing. I'm gonna make a video in December.

True 8)
Now it´s snowing outside and last three weeks it has been too cold to play outside. And you know how expensive the hall is. :?
I wish I could play at the moment as much as in the summer.

Sellasessa naftaliinitankissa. :P
Oon pelannu tosi vähän, kun koitan juosta nykyään enemmän. Mä luulen että mun todelliset kyvyt kuitenkin on siinä. Bägiäkin tekis mieli pelata mutta jalat ei kestä molempia... :(
Enkä sit oo viittiny hillua modifiedilläkään noin muuten vaan, ja mesen käytön lopetin silloin kun kone meni paskaks. Tajusin että siinäkin kului aina ihan vitusti sellaista aikaa jona olis voinu pelata tai käydä lenkillä. :)

Yeah right.

Antti came over on Friday and we had a session in the shed. He complained about his back and whatnot and played less than an hour.
I had an unprogrammed session for first time in quite a while. The skooling has paid off and I achieved some milestones. I hit Whirring Swirls for the first time. Also Whirr > Ripstein bsos first try and in the same run one Double Blender (had the other on foot). Then Ripped Warrior back-to-back for the first time. Almost Stepping Ducking out of Atomic Warrior. Spinning Grifter for the first time, though I'm not sure is it really worth of mentioning. Ducking Grifter on foot too, which was thrilling.
After the session we went over to Antti's place, drunk Finnish beer and Estonian booze and played Guitar Hero 2 'till like 3 am. I was hungover at work the next day...
I'm going to continue programmed solo session for some time now.

Jam in Helsinki in early December! That's less than a month! Can't wait to get to play circle with the others. Going to take my camera there too.

lo blog.

I made the new video as I promised (even earlier than I said!). That covers pretty much all the new stuff I've hit recently. New links:
Double Fairy > Enterrage
Ripstein > Double Blender (I'm actually proud of this )
Mobius > Spender
Spanishfly > Janiwalker (anybody hit this before?)
Surging Whirl > Food Processor (This is a neat reverse-combo!)
Scorpion's Tail > Mantis
There's also clean Nemesis in the video from a good angle, which I haven't seen from myself before. Oh yeah and I like the Dada Curve I start the first run with. Dada Curves are great when done correctly, I need to start using them more.
As I declared in the actual thread, I'll by a beer at Worlds for anyone who can tell where's the picture from, that's on my t-shirt in the video.

So I dumbed my old Quantum01's. They almost exploded at my feet during the goodbye-session. I wasn't really satisfied how they wore out so fast. I encoutered problems with them first time in the summer after playing with them for like 4 months... I really think that shoes which are ment for footbag should take shredding better.

I played in Quanum02's first time today. I've been runnin in them for a couple of times to break them in. Still they felt a little "slippery" today and the bag was rolling. I have a feeling that they're going to be better than their first version, but I've only heard bad things about their durability...

Jam in Helsinki next week! Can't wait.

Statement of the day: Use reversed dexes as much as normal dexes to bring more color to your runs.
