Los Angeles footbag scene?

Post by Anne » 25 Sep 2007 10:51

Hey,

I'll be going to Los Angeles for two months (Nov-Dec) and was wondering what the LA footbag scene looks like?!? I'm in LA for vacation, so I have plenty of time and I'd love it if there are any footbaggers out there who'd like to shred a bit with me!

I'm from Denmark, where I've been playing on-off for about two years (although I've never used modified before!), and I'd love to do some crazy shredding during my stay in LA :D

Hope to hear a bit from some of you!

footbaggers in your area:

-Chris Pinkus (doesn't play often anymore but he might if he knew that a woman wanted to play :) )

-Chad Devlahovich (Big Add Chad)

-Bryan Fournier ?? Not sure if he still lives in LA, but I think so.

you should try to find info for them on footbag.org in the members section. If you can't, I can try to help you.

It'll be great to meet some new people.

So - visitors' jam, I'm up for it! :D

well i was just joking about us in LA but yeah if there's something going on in San Diego I'll definitely see if I can make it out to that. It'd be my first West Coast event if I can. I'll look for more details when the time gets closer. kewl.

I think that Liam Johnston and Johnny Murphy from New Zealand will be in California around then (18th Nov-3 December). You guys definitely should set up something.

I will be in the LA area on nov 21st-25th, but I might not be able to make it out to a session. Nov. 23rd or 24th would maybe work, since that is friday/saturday.

Hey again,

I'll actually already be in LA from october 25th, so I'm up for some footbag, if anyone's out there... Otherwise I guess I'll just have to hit the beach and hope that some strangers want to learn a trick or two....

Hope someones up for some fun soon...

I have my dates -- I will be in Southern California from Nov. 11th to 21st, but will be in San Diego for at least a few of those.

Hey Matt, Jep, I'm the proud younger sister of Lise. Although not half as good as her!

If people are jammin in San Diego or other places close to LA, I'd love to take time to road trip to other places and stay for a couple of days, so let me know whats going on around LA. Know some people also play in Sant Cruz/Santa Barbara/Santa ?? and up in San Fransico, so I'd love to go around and just hang out...

See you soon!

it'd be able to shred maybe once with a group. It seems like I'm just going to be missing a lot of the action by the time I get there  . I'd really like to play in Santa Monica. I hacked there before I styled and it was a lot of fun to be on the strip causing a ruckus with the crowd. I'm really looking forward to round 2.

Anne,

Both the L.A. scene and the Santa Cruz scene are not very good right now. I will probably be both in L.A. and Santa cruz during those times, but I'm injured so I won't be kicking probably until New Year's Jam or later. :(

Definitely make it down to San Diego for a session with that crew, and try and make it up North if only to see a whole different side of California.

If you do decide to make it to northern California, there should be a few kickers around in shredding condition.
