Yea! That's one of my favorites, I also like

http://youtube.com/watch?v=oKjOlcdemMM

if I'm about to go out and cruise, or

http://youtube.com/watch?v=84SuiYAjBuk

if I'm about to go out and bomb hills.

I think I'll make my own slide gloves if I don't get any for Christmas, 50 bucks is a little too much. I'll get gardening gloves, wrap the fingers in like 20 layers of duct tape, and attach with screws going through the inside of the glove towards the outside a chunk of wood which will have a sheet of heavy duty plastic glued and screwed into the wood.

Sick! What flex did you get? What durometer gumballs did you get?

The dervish looks like such a sick board. I think I'm gonna buy a pintail in the next month or two and start pumping like crazy.

Hope you have fun with it!

the pintail is really fun! i tried it at a local store, and almost bought it but i decided on the dervish i love it. i've been carving, dancing and sliding on it like crazy.

and i have this sweet low-security garage right near where i live that's 3 stories or so.

the gumballs are 75a. i like them a lot :D and i have a flex 2 sooooooo good!

Nice find Waylon! I love that song.

True story: one day I was walking in some random prt of Tokyo, and I sw the Fat Bros skateboard shop! I wasn't sure if it was something they made up or what, but there it was. I walked in and asked the clerk if it they were the place from the Hifana song, and he confirmed that they were.

This vid made my day.

I'm interested in starting to longboard, what board do you suggest I get?

P.S. Preferably a bit on the cheap side because I'm even more interested in starting to drive my own car.

The best place to research for buying a new board is
http://www.silverfishlongboarding.com/

Their is a plethora of information in their forums for board buying and everything longboard related. And also think about what types of longboarding you want to get into, different types of longboards to perform for different disciplines. Do you want a longboard just for cruising around or do you want to get into downhill, dancing, sliding etc.?

I'm probably gonna get a Gravity minicarve. Not the most flex, but it was so easy to ride.

Ben:

1. I wouldn't suggest splurging on a loaded in the beginning unless you know you're going to stick with it because of the expense and there's plenty of superb boards out there that are cheaper.

2. What type of riding do you want to do?

3. How tall are you?

4. Longboarding rocks.

1. i know, im on a buying spree lately

2. i have ridden long boards a lot but never bought one for some reason...i even have 3 sets of trucks and wheels (from streetluging. need similar wheels and trucks)

3. I am 6'3"

4. Yes, it does.

scratch that, i have 2 sets(of 4)...but still. the newer pair are 75a nineballs and the older but still great are 73a nineballs.

i have a lot of sidewalks around her and a skatepark right down the street with lots of nice stuff and they allow long boards. i want to be able to do a lot of pumpin' around town.

Well, with loaded if you wanna do any sort of hills I would pretty much only go with the dervish and get the firmest one, but if you're just gonna cruise/pump/carve then any of the boards would be good and I would simply just follow the flex chart they got on their website.

Ahhh! My friend just ordered a second board and I'm really tempted to get a second one too.

Ben for the flex chart go to the loaded website, go to any board, and go to the subsection flex and then it'll have an option to launch the flex chart.
