SoCali Jam 08!

Post by Moxie » 12 Jan 2008 21:50

SoCali Jam 08!

February 15, 16, 17 and 18 in Northern San Diego.

>>Footbag.org listing<<

Tentative Schedule:

Friday:
-People arrive whenever they arrive.
-Kick at Tony’s if you arrive early in the afternoon/evening. (See address/directions below) If you need to know if people are still at Tony's or if they have moved to the restaurant, call Anne at 310-256-6129.
-At about 6:45pm people will leave Tony's place to head to the restaurant.
-Eat dinner at 7pm.

Oggi's Pizza
305 Encinitas Blvd
Encinitas, CA 92024
(760) 944-8170

Saturday:
-Wake up, eat, and head to Oceanside Pier (see directions below) at 11am for an all day footbag fun fest.
-Eat lunch
-Play more footbag
-Dinner at Souplantation when we're done or at 6:30pm, which ever comes first.

Souplantation
1860 Marron Rd. Carlsbad, California
760-434-3474

-Go bowling or do something else fun?

Sunday:
-Wake up, eat, and head to the Oceanside Pier at 11am for a sunny San Diego-style day of footbag fun. Bring a swim suit and towel if you’re wild enough to brave the chilly ocean.
-There's good food near the beach for people who don't bring their own lunch or who want to do dinner together.

Monday:
-Wake up, eat, and head to Tony's house.
-Kick, have fun, go home.

Days Inn Encinitas: The rate for a room with two QUEEN beds is $89 per night before tax. There is a pool, free parking, and a refrigerator and microwave in the room. The motel is only 1 exit from Tony's house.

Not everyone (not from SD) on the confirmed list will fit into one room, so it would be great for a few people or groups to reserve a room and fill it with people on the confirmed list.

Cale, there is no doubt in my mind that you're experiencing divine footbag intervention. The exact schedule/location stuff will be decided on and posted later. There will be kicking at Tony's house in his massive driveway at some point and at the beach at other points. If you need to know where those locations are in order to convince your dad, PM me and we'll take care of it.

Tom... make this happen. :-D

Yeyh! I'm so psyched about this!! I've never been at any comps/jams apart from Danish championships, so I'll be there with a happy face and the best footbag mood!! If we're lucky, I might even bring along another Danish player (Kim Mortensen), who's in California during Feb!

Alright this is my drive way. It has enough for 12 circles. That is a 4 man circle.

Sorry for the big ass pictures

It is the flattest surface ever.

I'm going to do everything in my power to make it to this Jam. My parents told me to find events closer to home, and this is perfect! Hopefully i can go with Cale and his parental unit. Though i need way more info before my dad will even consider it. He's one of those "I need to know absolutely everything about this event" guys. Heres hoping.

Umm a few things.

If you have a shred mat please try to bring it. People of San Diego love to play on shred mats. I can play on cement but mats would help. If you can bring them that be cool

I believe for saturday night we will be eating out. I am thinking maybe a pizza joint. About a half mile from the hotel. I will see if I can make reservations. It is pretty cheap too. More to come

For shredding at my house. Park on the street. This will make the shred spot less crowded.

I think there should be plenty of rides. Anne has a monster Van. Santa Cruz and Vegas guys will be driving. I don't know if they will be offering rides. Unfortunately I don't drive. So more to come on this

Umm Not important but if you have kind of activity to do after shred feel free to suggest... I play magic the gathering. If anyone else plays I glad to play there decks. I have type 2 and 1.5. If you want to go swimming in the ocean be my guest it is pretty cold though. Like hellish cold

That is just minor info. Complete info soon to come.

ugh

I didn't know there were any players in San Diego. I was there last summer and played by myself in a parking lot. Well, I guess now I know.

I have a 7 seaters van, and we're two in it at the moment, so if anyone finds it easier to go to LA and hitch a ride, I still have room for 5!!

I just added Alex Dworetzky and Aidan Clemente to the list of people thinking of attending, and Eric Chang to the confirmed list. Also, I'm getting back to people who sent me PM's over the last few days.
