Hey! I've played times, too!

No seriously, tell me how many times you played. RIGHT NOW.
Maybe she means no times since there isn't a number there. Read between the lines man, between the lines.

No, I don't play soccer. Yes, there are competitions. 4 years. Lots of practice.

Maybe she was just in such a rush to her next session that she didn't have time to type in the number.. although all her fans are dying to know

I'll be back in less than a week, then I'll do whatever I can to lift your workload with the jam!!!

See you soon - man I'm looking forward to it :D

You three are silly. :-)

I think 4 times in the last two weeks. I'm hoping that we can do 3 times a week. Monday, Wed, and Friday.

I agree we should do three times a week that would be bomb sauce.

Also did you hit ducking osis? That was new. But ya super exciting that we have a new player!

Yikes, a month since my last post. It was because I wasn't feeling great about the way I've been playing recently. I hadn't realized how much I needed this jam until it was over. This was one of the more fun events I've been to because it was small enough that I could hang out with everyone I wanted to, and because I wanted to hang out with the people who came. A winning combination. :-)

Day 1, Friday:
-Driving.
-Green eye brows.
-I was taught to play with matches.
-Dinner was provided by Scott and Anne and waiting for us at the hotel.
-When I hugged Scott hello I got a horrible neck cramp only on the left side. After a few minutes it was better.
-Sleeping in a bed with a girl instead of a random footbag guy at an event was nice. It was also really nice that Ben and I worked out a hotel arrangement so we didn't have to cram a ton of people into each room. I slept on a bed all three nights, what luxury!

Day 2, Saturday:
-Ride with the Vegas couple, Beven Skagsman to the site.
-When I hugged Chad hello I got a horrible neck cramp only on the right side. After several minutes it was better.
-My best string of the event was when I was kicking with Ben alone on the stage.
-Sick 3 and Big Trick. I think the best trick of the day was Damon's attempt at doing trials on the stack of shred mats.
-Souplantation for dinner. Good price for that much food. Yumm.
-Richie/Damon/Jason's house after the restaurant.
-“Vodka roomâ€

Sweet Emily, I think you managed to get pretty much everything in there. Well, maybe except for the Saturday night beauty parlour session in "vodka room", where I got a footmassage from Scott while Mike got his beautiful hair brushed by you. :D

I think Mike put it best after we went in a circle that we (footbaggers) like to be in circles :) I think the dex was clean.

Cheers

Eric came down to play footbag with the UCSC crew! ... meaning Dustin+me. He also brought my lavers which I had forgotten in his trunk. Thanks Eric! Inspired by Eric's sweet eggbeaters, I tried and hit eggbeater for the first time today (not on the first try). I don't plan to try it ever again because it takes so much energy. :P

Well, maybe...

Sweet emily with the eggbeater...

And speaking of things left in other people's trunk, I found a waterbottle in my car that might be yours!!! It's see through but with a dark coloured plastic and has a blue lid. Let me know what to do with it!

When is anything not about Neil Patrick Harris?

Anne, you could bring it with when you come up north to SF and either I can meet you to pick it up or you can drop it off when you come to eat at the Saturn Cafe. ;-) We'll work something like that out.

Santa Cruz was fun, but there wasn't anyone else but you guys, I think these other people you "footbag" don't exist :-p. Anyways as I said it was really fun to kick again and see Dustin's long string > Nemesis attempt just out of the blue!

Thanks for saying I have sweet eggbeaters, didn't know they looked sweet, so it makes me feel all warm and cuddly inside. Yes props for hitting eggbeater :)

I'd like to drive down again in about two weeks! Cheers.

Well, there was this one time when NPH didn't relate to what my friend and I were talking about and....wait....nevermind, now that I think about it, he was a part of the conversation.

Oh, Neil Patrick Harris, why do you tempt us so?

Last week
Monday: kick
Tuesday: gym
Wednesday: kick
Thursday: gym
Friday: kick

Too bad it doesn't show. :-P

At all. :-?

Maybe because of those damn girl scout cookies. Mmmmmm, sugary sirens.

I play footbag because it's fun, not because I want to get better. But sometimes it feels fun to get better. :-)

Wednesday was a fun session because for some reason I had a bunch of energy; enough to work really hard the whole time. I worked on paradon and tried flip a ton too. Strong was okay but not consistent, and flip just wasn't happening. On Friday my strong side looked and felt better and flip worked a few times, but I was so sore from working them on Wed then going to the gym on Thurs that I couldn't do much that whole session.

Sean got his lavers! That's TWO people in our club within the last 3 or 4 months. Woo! Unfortunately, we recently lost a committed member of the club, Brian. From what we can piece together, after getting arrested for an unrelated crime he was deported because he was here on an expired visa. We just assumed he was a legal citizen. I guess it goes to show how little you can know about someone you see all the time.

Finals are coming up in a few weeks and it feels like crunch time is starting right now. :| The good news is that as soon as finals are over Aaron, Shawnell, and two other kickers are going to stay the night and have a session in town. The bad news is that my new job (TJ's) might have scheduled me for that Saturday. :-( If I work it'll be 4pm-12:30am. so no Steve's house for me.

they keep showing this commercial on ESPN that starts with,
"sausage makers don't just sell themselves, it takes moxie"

I hope they keep running it.

and am I crazy or did I see you defending Dan Feary, not once, but TWICE in the post your pic thread??? I almost forgot how much I liked this site...

thats all, thank you

It does take moxie to sell anything involving sausages.

On Monday I had a session with Dustin but I had to stop playing after just a few minutes of real turns (meaning after warming up). The inner part of my hip where the hip and leg connect started hurting quickly. It might be a ligament or tendon (I have no idea how that would feel) was causing the pain because it doesn't feel muscular, but it started to hurt after trying flip paradon. Then it hurt when I tried anything else (incl. mirage) so I stopped quickly. Anyway, from that session I took away pain, but also ripwalk>barrage both sides.

My hip pain was still slightly present on Tuesday when walking, but on Wed it felt completely fine even after stretching it or trying to do things that would make it hurt. So I played. And tried flip paradon. And it hurt. It didn't hurt when doing other stuff so I tried eggbeater again and hit it some on the strong side, and came close on my flip side. I decided doing anything on my flip side was stupid (even though I'm sure playing at all was not so smart, but it didn't hurt, so...) so I hit strong eggbeater> butterfly>strong barfly. It was the first time I had ever hit barfly, so that was pretty fun. It was a fluke, but I'm still happy about it.

I don't play on Thursdays normally and I'm going to take Friday off in hopes of feeling fine on Saturday when I go to Steve's.

EDIT: The next person who reads this should say hi.

Edit: Typo. 2.

I know I'm not the first to read it, but hi anyways...

Take care of your legs, Emily!!!! Don't want you to become seriously hurt.

Sounds like you hit some pretty nice things though. Still can't get the movement of paradon and barfly into my head.. hopefully one day! Maybe next time I see you (hint hint, coach!).

I'm still hoping to make it up north to you guys, but right now I can't figure out when.. so if the water bottle becomes a desepate thing, just give me your address and I'll send it along.

Take care. Say hi to Dustin and the guys up north.

\Anne
