Lost yet another soccer game.. I did have the two assists on the two goals we scored though. I should have scored 3 or 4 goals but of course I kinda biffed it everytime.

I did get to kick a bit at lunch and before soccer. I was mostly just trying to have fun.

Highlights:
Gyro Flapper kick
Illusioning walkover

So just out of curiosity, with moves that you end on a walkover, is the walkover a separate move? Like, is what I did an illusion ending on an inside stall then walkover, or is it a dexing walkover? It'd be appreciated if someone could elaborate on this

Well if you do an illusioning dex and then stall it and then walkover it, it's an illusion>walkover or I suppose an illusioning walkover. However, If you can manage to do an illusion dex and then catch on the inside and scoop it to clipper from there with no real discernable break in momentum, that would be something like an illusioning catwalk. a catwalk is basically a butterfly that you catch with the inside first and then guide it through the dex. Does that help?

That does help, thanks. So it sounds like it needs to be one big motion. I'll try and get a video of it when I have the time within the next few days just for better judgement of it

Hey John. I like your blog. It sounds like we need another hack off sometime in the future. Your game sounds awesome.

Thanks :) I'd be game for another hack off. I just want to get in one more real, two hour session before we have it if you don't mind. Having all these little inbetween school and soccer sessions isn't cutting it for real practice. But yeah, definitely soon

All through school today, and maybe yesterday, I had been thinking of fun stuff to hit. The result was gyro walkover/ gyro inside> walkover, whatever the heck it is. But yeah, it took me a few tries but I finally hit it. It felt soo cool. I'm a fan of gyro stuff. I just have to broaden my gyro trick selection. I also hit right clipper set spinning clipper today, bsos. I don't know why I've always done it only left clipper set until now. Maybe it just kinda clicked or something. Alrighty, homework time

SATs went alright I guess. I will know in 15 days.

Kicked with all the NJ dudes today. It was a lot of fun. But alas, I can definitely tell that I'm already becoming "rusty" from my lack of regular play. Well not entirely rusty anyway. Everyone was hitting rad stuff. I tried to hit PS whirl lol. Almost ish got it. I think I tried mullet too.

Highlights:

pdx Flail
PS mirage
Spinning (pdx?) mirage
Stepping xbd rake
Soooooo close to stepping op rev whirl. I was trying both sides but to no avail.
almost blurry whirl too

I think if I really drill whirls and rev whirls then I'll be able to hit that and blurry whirl soon.

But yeah, it was fun
later

edit: I did also hit an unclean assassin. the duck hit my neck and such

Tried to have a good basics session today. Some progress. Went I went to just do strings, I just didn't have the energy required. it was soo weird. I could do some tiltless stuff but whenever I tried to venture into ducking or uptime, the power just wasnt there. Maybe I've been eating tool much of the wrong foods. Oh well. Playing with other NJ fellas again tomorrow so hopefully I'll have the energy then.

goodbye

No group shred today so I kicked by myself for about 3 hours i think. It was a giant mix of drilling and funness (I got easily sidetracked).

I started to learn normal atomic instead of leggy. Although I still don't like how it looks, it seems to be easier to do.

I FINALLY made progress with infinities. I was able to get up to 7. While this is not a high number, nor does it meet my challenge requirement of 15, its still progress. I need to go to a big open space now to work on them because I move around too much for my crowded back deck to handle.

I was trying blender in the beginning as well and I managed to hit it once, which felt so cool. Alas, I could not get it again. I then proceded to try food processor lol. I actually came uber close, I think

Argh, three freaking hours and I'm having trouble remembering what I did

Oh yeah, I tried doing a few of my challenges. I finally finally finally hit symp mirage > butterfly > pdx mirage > rpt. idk why it took soo freaking long. the key ended up being starting with my flipside

Okay, I think thats all the noteworthy stuff

I guess I'll start this off with saying that my girlfriend and me are back together. A short hiatus seemed to be the cure. We were back together in time for our 3 year anniversary. We went to the "field of terror" It was a lot of fun. I do feel kinda bad because while she was screaming, I was cracking up

Its been pretty much a year almost to the day since I discovered freestyle footbag. I don't remember the actual day, but its close enough. I guess I'm going to try to asess myself at this point. I'm happy with my game for the most part. There are definitely things I could have done differently early on, such as schooling basics way more than I did. Well whats done is done. I like my trick selection. I have a lot of fun doing a lot of xbd rakes and such. I've also been doing a lot better lately in actually drilling basics and certain aspects as opposed to just trying to hit a really cool trick all the time. String length is also finally clicking more and more. I do feel as though I've come a long way since hitting my first mirage with a sandmaster in DC skate shoes

Footbag has changed my life in several ways. 1) It made me more coodinated/ambidexterous with my feet. That was part of my original goal so I could become better at soccer. I feel it definitely has helped in that aspect. I went from being on jv through half my junior year to starting varsity in my senior year. 2) I have something that makes me feel individually special among my friends. I can say that in my school I don't follow the crowd. 3) I just feel that I have more fun overall in life. 4) I've also been a person to play TCGs and such. I did pokemon, yugioh, magic, etc. I knew that one day I'd have to stop each of those because of getting older and becoming aware of the real world. Hell, I even tried to get into parkour, but it just wasn't for me. I have a scar to prove it  With footbag, I can do it as long as I want without worrying about the "real world." Footbag is the thing for me.

There are no highlights because I didn't get to play :(

Anyway, later
