That all red 32 looks fabulous Alex! Sweet bag!

Here's one bag that I have left from NYJ that didn't sell. In fact, I only sold one bag at NYJ and the rest were either traded or given away as gifts:

Image

It's an amaretta mini with a new Footfighter mini right next to it for size comparison. I didn't expect it to be so small, and everyone that attended NYJ were only interested in larger bags. The funny thing is, I filled it with only lead without a scale at the event, and I came back home and it weighed in at 55.5 grams. Go figure.

The bag is pure butters, but because its so small I think I'll keep it for myself.

Waylon,
this mini look awesome, is it smaller than the blue one you've send me?

Definitely yes.

edit: Actually, I used my standard template, and with high gather it turned into a mini. This bag is much smaller than my usual minis made with facile.

I stitched this one up a few days ago.. next to a Mr. Sandbag for size comparison. Loosely filled with sand and steel shot.

That's the best bag I've seen on this forum yet. And I've seen a lot of great bags.

Props isn't enough for that type of craftsmanship. I would like to shake your hand, Gary. Very good job, I'm seriously impressed.

How many stitches? Are the bleedholes sealed?

I make all of my bags four-stitch because I find it easier to be consistent than with a three-stitch.. and I use button thread so they're still very soft. The bleed holes aren't sealed.. I figured they were small enough to hold sand and to this point there's no leakage :D .

I'm not into trades these days. I just have way too many bags! At NYJ I was trying to sell bags from my own collection, but I guess that didn't go anywhere since I didn't make any sales.

Four stitch is good, and I like to use that method for bags bigger than a golfball, but I find that it's a hassle for minis. And the 4-stitch method just doesn't break-in well for minis imo. Now, if you used a material like amaretta or microsuede instead of facile or ultrasuede soft, that's a different story, but there just seems to be some tangible variables when it comes down to sewing technique, facile and us-soft.
