Be sure to take it easy if you have pain, especially if it feels like stress fracture/shin splints. Injury is the dark side of footbag. It really isn't worth playing if you're in pain. At a critical point in my game (about a year in) I lost 5 months to a stress fracture we couldn't even see with an x-ray. Literally five months! I think that length of time was compounded by the fact I kept trying to play again. When I came back I pretty much lost all my sets. My muscle memory failed me. What was once my strong stepping is now my flip stepping, and it still isn't as good as it was 3 years ago :/ My atomic and pixie also changed sides....

Nico, yeah you really do, he's fun to kick with.

Psilocybe, Dude thanks for the tip. I'm trying not to fuck my legs up AT ALL. Definitely be taking a break for a few days. I'm so addicted to the sport though and it makes it so hard to NOT footbag.

So tomorrow, I have a light shred session with Zach and this new kid to the forum, Magus(I forget the numbers in his username, we'll call it 666 for now.) Magus666 Lives right near my apartment where I've been holding footbag flings and jams and whatnot. If you read the post "Why Lavers?" in Getting Started, you'll get to know his crazy story. So now, since Damon Matthews actually sent this kid a pair of Lavers for FREE, he's going to try them out with us. Pretty stoked to learn him real god and show him the ropes. Going to only kick a little bit though... FOR REAL.

...Hit Reverse Swirling Dragon today again ;)

The other day, Zach and I LIGHTLY shredded with Magus for the first time. If you go to the Getting started: Why Lavers? thread, you'll get the story on him. He loved his new Lavers and said "I couldn't do that in my skater shoes" :D Lavers FTW

Highlights:

 I'm really starting to kill at flipside xbd sole stalls :D

 Zach... hit... ripped... warrior 8O

 My neighbor gave me a cantaloupe for being awesome... so Zach and I played footbag with it.

 I've been working on my routine for Funtastiks!!! It's looking beautiful so far.

 Zach and I went to a bookstore and pointed out all the books with footbag related names to them.

I just got back from street performing. I made 70 tonight, not bad for a slow night. Highlights:

 I learned how to 2-bag juggle!!! I got 6 back n forth WIN!

I tired. I lay on floor now.

Good shit haha I'll be stitching your bag soon enough, Kurt

This weekend, Zach and Tyler came down for the night and since Jackson lives right next door, we all got together and played some footbag and i mean SOME footbag. We were all in pain, especially Zach and I. He picked me up a jar of Tiger Balm. Shit is awesome and my legs felt so much better with it. We also all went kayaking. Really fun time with everyone. And since our legs hurt a lot, we did this.

Image

Jackson stacked all of our combined bags on my head. This was just the start, we eventually almost got all of them on there.

Oh and I forgot to say, Zach stitched me a SICK SICK SICK SICK SICK SICK footbag. It plays better than all of my bags in my possession right now. And I've got some intense good bags stitched by some great players. Treebags are BY FAR the best. I Highly recommend them. Contact zachatree if you're trying to buy a really great, highly shreddable bag. I'm not just saying this because he's my friend, I'm saying this because these bags really are the best I've shredded with, bar none. This is the bag he stitched for me:
Image

Zach also stitched Tyler a bag. It's so cool having Zach, Tyler, and Jackson to play with. We realized that our houses are equally spaced apart from eachother, except for Jackson's house, since he's right next to me :P And the best part, my apartment is equidistant from Tyler and Zach's place. It's the perfect meeting spot. I'm really glad I met those guys. We all have so much in common. But once my legs heal, I NEED TO SHRED WITH RIEFERMAN!!!!!! It's been like a week, and that's too long. I miss you BOB!!!! :P

Mark another tally for my "People I get Into Footbag" score. I gave an old pair of Quantums to a buddy of mine. He took to them pretty nicely. Great bag control, alt. toe stalls, and inside stalls. Good stuff. DAS EET!!!

Session with Rieferman and Zachatree tonight. Really gonna work on flipside.

I thought it would be cool to rename my cat:

First name: "Wywecant" Last name: "Havenicethings". It would be fun to introduce her to friends.

Zach came over today and we kicked with Bob. Pretty good session, very fun. Then afterward Zach and I came back to my house and kicked some more. I suggested he use some of the weird things I do in his game which would make it look cool. I told him to try squeezes. He was hitting them no problem. Really stoked he's getting them so easily. It's really gonna improve his already sick style. Zach stitched a really sick new bag that we broke in today. My highlights:

 DATW> inside stall> muted swirl
 Spinning squeeze

New tricks invented tonight: "Sparkle" & "Blowjob"

Thanks for naming that one, Bob!

Got back from street performing. Did rather well! Tonight was a really good night and I'm slowly working in more of my weird shit.

Side note: My Dad just stood up and pulled down his pants down

Anyway, REALLY working my flipside into it.

 Dyno> Ducking Clipper
 New Street Performing Trick: random shred> sole stall> take a bite of my banana> put it down> pick up my water bottle> take a sip> put it down> pop out of the sole stall> break into shred (BIG crowd pleaser)
 DATW> inside stall> muted swirl again... sweet

So today was the day where I was gonna ask that ice cream shop girl out to coffee. I walk down with my self-confidence levels blazing off the charts. I look inside... two dudes were working. No hot chick.... FUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU--- Oh well, I'm not looking for anything right now, if something comes up, it comes up. College is starting up again, hot girls go to my college. Plus I have my own apartment now... WORD. I ran into my ex tonight and we were real cool. Hadn't hung out with her for a long time. Not kicking for a few days though. I really want my legs to heal. TIGER BALMMMM
