One of the most confident sessions of my life today, although I didn't really hit anything extraordinary. I think I'll remember it for a long time, it was a grand feeling.

A recurring injury reappeared, however. My hip got really tight after about 10 minutes. I tried to stretch it, but it got continually worse. It's been like that off and on since USO '08. Hm.

I am happy with how I played outside of competition at USO, but I did not compete well. I think it is due mostly to the high level of competition this year, and the lack of lower-level open players competing. The open circle pools were absolutely brutal. It was a lot of fun otherwise, although I don't think the event site was really suitable for the US Footbag Championships in the middle of August.

Some fun memories:

- 2nd place in the poker tournament, made 5 bucks!

- A beer and hot tub with Seattle, then losing really badly in 4 square due to bare feet.

- All 3 extended LOTR movies with Landes and the Jacksons. Jake Wren for the last two I think.

- Cody driving all 20 hours, not needing me to drive at all. Both ways. Dude's a beast.

- Session with Penske on Sunday night, beer pong aftewards.

- Ever have sex with a pharaoh I whip my hair back and forth

- Hang on, I got a text

- Jorden absolutely demolishing circle, and the transcendent tips he gave me for legover and the new drills he showed me.

- Ken's dropless routine

- The Deathly Hallows audiobook

- Irene

- few new tricks: beta open plasma, symp quantum symp swirl, symp quantum dlo, zulu clipper bsos (;))

- Great, quiet, respectful room mates. Thanks Ben, Ken, and Matt.

- Thanks Zeb for all of the hard work, much appreciated. I hope it goes well next year.

- Lots of Boise babes everywheeerreeeee. Particularly this one girl Cale and I witnessed. My god.

- First Baja Fresh trip.

Thanks everyone, I had a lot of fun.

Sounds fun.
How did you manage 12 hours of LOTR at a footbag tournament?? No sleep? I "marathoned" those with a friend over, like, a week..

Hey Zac, that hip still bothering you? I've had the same issue on and off for a while. My girlfriend's an athletic trainer and she's been telling me to take some time off, heat and ice it and stretch it for a few days to give it time to heal. Apparently I messed mine up enough that it'll be a few weeks before it's healed! 8O
How do you play so that you avoid tweaking it? Focus a little more on your clipper game? It'd be nice to be able to play just a leedle bit while I'm healing the thing up

Hey Ian. I've iced, heated, stretched, and done many number of other things to my hip to no avail. It's been hurting on and off for 2 or 3 years now. I would definitely suggest listening to your athletic trainer girlfriend over me. My hip gets tighter as sessions go on, regardless of the tricks I do. It sucks, but that's how it is. Just don't push it too hard.

Erik: I got there a few days before the tournament started and we spread it out over a couple days. It was more of a background thing than anything else, probably. It was definitely fun!

I've started doing P90X yoga and playing ultimate frisbee every friday and that shit is just bonkers. I'm still sore from last friday. I have not played any hack since USO, however. I fucked up my toe while walking around Kansas City drunk and it hurts real good. I think it should be ok soon. School also started, kind of. I don't have any important assignments yet.

I've tried to play a couple times since my post and one time my hip flared up and the other time my heels were killing me (from an injury in October).

Woe is me.
