My name is Jeremy Mellor. Im 23 years old and live in Pottstown Pennsylvania. I started Freestyle footbag alittle more than a month ago (7/11/2011). Nick Polini has pretty much taught me everything I know so far.

I keep a spreadsheet of the tricks Ive done with some notes and dates when I first hit them. Which you can view here.

I always try stuff on both sides even if I havent hit it on my strong side. I dont really feel like Ive done it until I have it on both sides.

I havent quite figured out stringing yet. I can come up with a string in my head and do it, but have trouble freestyling on the fly.

Some of my records:
Infinity x 8
Clipper x 15
Osis x 3
Ducking Clipper x 2

Current Goals:
Clipper x 20
Inifnity x 20
Ducking Clipper x 20
B>O>P x 4
Ripwalk

Be warned I suck at spelling/writing and my apostrophe key doesnt work right now which you may have noticed.

Im looking for any feedback and ideas for new tricks/links to work on.

Here is a video of me doing BSOS PDX Mirage for the first time. I try to recored new stuff after I hit it so I will be posting more videos.

Had a session with Nick Polini and my ex-girlfriend tonight. Broke my previous record and hit Infinity x 5 pretty early in the night.

 Diving SS Clipper both sides for first time.
 Gyro Clipper set from strong side. Going to try and drill this back to back.
 Ended with B>O>P. Should be able to hit this BS tomorrow as I was really close on both tonight my legs just got too tired.

I didn't kick at all yesterday because my legs we just to sore. Got some new fabric I had ordered which was exciting. I ended up stitching two really neat bags though both are going to local players.

Jeremy,
Hell yeah, it looks like you're working your form and its pretty remarkable how far youve come in a month, judging by your highlights. I bet Nick's been real helpful too, but welcome to the community. Maybe we'll see each other at some jam soon!

Thanks Ian,

Had a session with Nick, Bob, and Jackson last night. I was mostly trying to string tiltless. Still having trouble coming up with stuff while stringing, I think I just need to drill 2 adds abit more than I do. I did a few strong side swirls that felt pretty easy and starting to understand the motion more on my flip. Bob helped me improve my form on Illusion. I did Illusion BS which felt really clean.

This was probably the last time I get to kick with Nick for awhile, which sucks. He has been very helpful and cant wait till we can shred again.

When I got how Tif and I played for abit. I drilled 2 adds for alittle and got 8 ATW in a row. I was able to do 8 Legovers before my hip started acting up and got a few back to back. Normally my hip starts hurting after two with might left leg. I was trying to get B>O>P rpt. but it was pretty dark and was having trouble with my Osii.

 Infinity>SS Butterfly rpt.
 Butterfly>PDX Mirage rpt.
 While stringing did a PDX Mirage that just happened I didnt have to even think about it. This felt really good since Ive been struggling to string.
 Mirage to Inside BS not to impressive just felt neat

Tif got her first Mirage yesterday and was super excited. Im glad she is enjoying it.

Dude, I'm so glad you finally made a blog! Shredding with you has been fucking awesome and I'm really glad you've been so into it. I'm definitely going to miss kicking with you, but at least you'll be blogging so I can keep up with your progress. I can't wait to come home during my next break and see that you're hitting shit that I can't hit haha You'll have to teach me Nemesis when you learn it next month :P

But yo, if you're bored as hell one of these weekends and feel like driving a bit, PSU is like 3 hours away. It's not too bad of a drive. I could provide you with crash space and whatnot then you could come kick with Nathan Pipenburg, Ian Brill, Stefan Szanto, and I. That'd be sick.

Anyway, I wish you luck in your future footbag successes. I have madd faith in you and your game, man. You're gonna fucking blow up in the footbag community. You're so dedicated and you understand concepts like it's 1st grade math. So bitchin'. Looking forward to having something (this blog) to read when I get bored.

Side note: Dabble with your spins soon. You're a very natural spinner. Also def hit Bob up this year a lot... As well as Jackson and Corey. Maybe you'll meet Brian Buchan too. I'll keep reading and posting in here.

Take care dude. Keep that hair purple! lol

Just had a little solo session in my apartment. Mostly drilled B2B Clippers got 7 a bunch of times. Kept running into stuff or I would have gotten more but I guess it helps my control playing in a small space. Got bored with clipper and messed around with some other stuff.

 I was just playing in boxers and did a pixie set that went strait up one leg of boxers and out the other.
 Really Clean Dimwalk, Pixie plant foot then butterfly.
 3 Osis B2B really in control. Started really turning into them rather than scooping it around me.
 B>O>P BS should be able to do it rpt soon.

Shredded with Bob tonight for abit. He help me with illusion even more and they are starting to feel really easy. I did some 2/3add strings which felt pretty nice only like 5-6 contacts though. Worked on Smear and Whirl both of which I was able to dex clean just need to work on getting my foot under the bag.

 BS Temple stall!
 Footed a few toe Drifters. Starting to understand how to do this without dexing uptime.
 Some good far Legovers. Legovers dont really hurt anymore which is nice.

I need to keep practicing everything I can do. Was really struggling with near mirage tonight even though they were really easy a few weeks ago.

Going to shred tomorrow with the Q-Town Rejects, Tif and maybe Jackson.

Dude... It's so nice to read that stuff! I'm OVERJOYED that you're motivating everyone to kick and that you're already understanding drifters and whirls and dude, you're the man. The end.

It's nice up here at PSU, I'm gonna miss shredding with you guys though. You think you're going to East Coast Championships in NJ Sept. 24-25? I'm totally going. It'd be sick to see you guys down there.

Played with Nathan Pipenburg tonight. We used your bag. He really enjoyed it. I'm really glad you're blogging now. I plan on keeping a close eye on this blog this year while I'm at PSU. Keep kicking ass, man.

Shredded in Quakertown for awhile today. Had a few good strings really trying to just string more. Illusions still feeling easy which is good. Footed a few Smears but twisted my ankle abit so I stopped trying it.

Kicked with Bob tonight. Getting better at stringing, Bob told me to stop catching bag with hand and just do a few toe stalls then start stringing stuff again. This helped alot. Bob showed me Far Osis and its a really fun trick I ended up doing 2-3 back to back. I figured out why I was struggling with near mirage. I wasnt thinking of it as a mirage I was just setting and trying to step over it quickly. So I started setting, waiting and doing more of a down time mirage.

 clipper>clipper>butterfly>butterfly
 BSOS Far Pickup
 Butteryfly>Far Osis>Near Mirage
 3 x Flip SS Butterfly
 Blur!

Had been trying Blur a week or two ago had footed it once but then lot the motion. Bob mention blur or something tonight so I decided to try them again. Footed the first one I tried then got it a few tries later.

So Nasty dude. Blur is such a great stepping trick to bail to when you're guiltless. I was happy to read that you got Far Osis x3. You sound like you're getting more and more flowy by the day.

I'm stoked you and Bob are having sessions more regularly now. However, if you're not playing on your own, you really should... A great BAP member once told me that (or something close to this) "Although playing with friends is great, the best freestylers in the world played by themselves a lot of the time and privately drilled the concepts they wanted to be good at". So keep shredding with Bob, Jackson, Corey and the other guys, but also take some time to have solo sessions with yourself down at that pavilion and drill some new concepts you're learning, become fluent with them on both sides and then whip them out during your next session with the crew... That's the ultimate test to show you have a concept locked down... if you can replicate the trick in front of friends.

Keep it up man. Your blog is like a good book... I can't wait to read the next post to see what happens next.

Just had a really quick session. Started out with 75 toe stalls this is the most Ive gotten, normally stop out of boredom though. Did 10 Strong side Swirls and 2 flip side. I still need a lot of practice with flipside swirls.

Had a session with Bob tonight. Didn't do anything new really but had some good strings. Figured out a better way to set Swirls and had a few good ones. Did a few more stepping ss clippers on strong side. My weak side stepping needs alot of work. I need to work on my weak-side more in general its falling behind.

 Mirage > Illusion. Bob said the Illusion was very clean.
 Mirage > Smear
 4 b2b Pickup

Bob gave me a few things to work on.
Pickup > Mirage > Legover > Legover rpt. I think I did it once on each side no rpt though. I'll keep trying.
25 contacts of butterflys clippers and osii. This one was fun but I think the most I got was 9.

Kicked with Bob tonight. Was trying to get 10 tiltless contacts towards the end of our session. Was having alot of trouble would get about 4-5 then just not think of another trick till it was too late.

 10 x Mirage
 10 x Clipper new record.
 Ended on Osis > Far Butterfly. Realized I only do PDX mirage from Osis or another Osis.
