Ranks Removal?
Ranks Removal?
Does anybody care about the so-called "Ranks" feature on this board? I'm completely confused as to what the heck it is and why it's a thing The ranks don't appear to make any sense, and I would have to read to find out exactly how to give myself a rank or whether someone has to bestow the honour upon me. Am I just un-hip like that? What am I missing?
Re: Ranks Removal?
It used to be based on number of posts, and it would change accordingly, but then admins were giving out custom ranks to anybody who asked
Re: Ranks Removal?
I consider this visual & informational clutter and would kind of like to delete them all and not have them be a thing any more. Would anybody object if I did that?

What Nick said.
Re: Ranks Removal?
The badges do already have a spot below the ranks ... Obviously the integration still needs a lot of work, and I'm getting there, for real. There are also hold-ups with the badges which I have no control over. But they will have a more prominent place soon

So all I see when I see the ranks is something that could easily be taken away in the name of perfection. One of the reason the default theme for these forums looks so dated is because it's extremely bad at hiding information and cluttering the reading experience. Ranks add to this, and, IMO not in a good way.Perfection is achieved, not when there is nothing more to add, but when there is nothing left to take away.
