Super Seaths Shreddin Spectacle of Stupendous Stunts & S

Hi my name is Ryan Seath, I was born in 82 and I live in Ottawa Canada, the Capital of the country and proud host to a weak footbag scene. Luckily Ottawa is very close to Aylmer Quebec, which is host to a footbag scene that is a little better than Ottawas, unfortunately they keep quiet in the cyber scene. I tend to shred with them most of the time.

So i suppose anything footbag related happening in Ottawa has something to do with me. Since I started playing, back in December 03 the month I received my first pair of Adidas Rod Laver tennis shoes, I've established a few protege's, one being Dan Wax, the one who shows the most potential. The rest are still waiting on lavers so they are more behind than they really know.

I guess my ultimate goal right now, aside from improving my game, is to establish a footbag scene that doesn't need me to be there. I'm planning on moving out of town this September to go to school, so I have exactly 11 months left to acomplish this task.

Enjoy my footblog, thanks for reading it, and please feel free to reply to it!

So I met Mat... Mat's last name is still unknown to me. He lives in Aylmer, right over the ontario/quebec border, and FINALLY I've met a shredder better than me who lives close by! We had our first shred today and it was awesome! Just watching someone else shred helps me so much! I hit my first whirl today, also BSOS pixie legover, and ducking clipper>diving clipper also pdx illusion and BSOS symp mirage. It was one of my best sessions ever and Im all extra stoked for worlds. Im leaving hopefully monday!

It looked like this:

osis flipside
atomic legover flipside
pixie pickup flipside (hit it bsos after I got home from work)
atomic mirage flipside
DLO flipside
diving osis flipside
swirl flipside
whirl and clipset whirl flipside
drifter flipside
ducking and diving legover both sides

strings:
Diving pickup>diving mirage
Dimwalk>pdx illusion (i hit this after work)

Oh I forgot to mention, the previous post is from a sesh today with Matt Larocque and three of his friends at cegep college in Gatineau Quebec and it was fun, cegep has alot of really nice looking girls for sure.

My game is coming along so much more smoothly ever since worlds, shit's just falling into place now. And im going to kingston later this week to shred with Mosher, just gotta find out which day will be prime for the shrisit (shrisit = shred visit, use it, it's gold). This week is turning out to be huge for me!

Just got back from Kingston last night, I was shredding with Tom thursday evening and we each hit an ass load of new shit!

My memory sucks but I'll try to remember what I hit:

smudge both sides
tap bsos
parkwalk bsos
magellan both sides
refraction and far refraction on my strong side
barfly roll off my foot!
mirage on the rocks ;)
I even did a couple strong side rakes
atomic ss butterfly (any cool name?)

dimwalk>pdx illusion>double switchover
butterfly> osis>outside far legover>osis> far refraction
diving osis>far refraction
plo>plo
pixie pickup>pixie pickup

new record for mirage>legover repeat drill - 14 contacts
standing record for butterfly>pdx mirage repeat drill - 6 contacts
standing record for alternating clipper drill - 9

I can't really remember what else, or other strings, mosher help me out!
Im going to clean up my kitchen and then try to smash these drill records

Atomic same butterfly = tapdown

Awesome stuff man. Onterio is becomming the new Czech Republic. Or maybe the new Finland.

Either way, it's exploding. So many young players either open level or approaching it quickly. Good work guys.

Oh man, we shredded so hard and hit so much new stuff.

It's really too bad (not really) that we were so drugged up or perhaps we could remember more of what we busted.

Either way it was SO much fun having you at my place man.

I will have to find my way up to Ottawa for some more MAX HEIN SHRED!

So I'm going to write about the folks I play with but aren't on modified

I didn't really drill at all today, but I did convince my buddy to come outside and kick, his name is Steve. Steve is like the pro hacky sacker hehe, me and him played hacky sack all through high school and college. He's got crazy control but no footbag training! He's been hearing, and seeing, about my progression but he's been a little late to get on the footbag.. ball, or bag or whatever.

Slowly but surely he's coming along though, in the last two weeks he's been practicing mirages and legovers, but he still doesn't have lavers, he's procrastinating about buying them so in the mean time he's kicking with crappy vans skate shoes. I pester him constantly about buying lavers.

Anyways, we kicked today, I gave him some good tips on his mirages and how he was shifting his weight between his two feet and I really noticed an improvement in his mirages, and so did he, he got all stoked about footbag just a little more. Still no sign of Stevo getting lavers soon though, I suppose I'll keep the blog updated.

Theres this other guy I kick with from time to time, He's been at it for about 5 months now, he's got the lavers and the mr. sandbags and he's obsessed with footbag so it's just a matter of time. His name is Dan Wax, he's a 20 year old soccer player and at the moment he just hit is first datw, he's drilling far legovers and osiseses. I'm trying to get him to start frequenting modified but he hasn't really caught onto it yet.

He's stoked about getting footage too so there very well could be some video of him soon, who knows.

The other guy I play with, some of you know already, Matt Laroque, is from Gatineau, in quebec. He's about a 20 minute drive from where I live. He's been playing for about two years now. He checks modified out from time to time to see the videos and such but doesn't post at all, I want to try to convince him to start a blog, that would get him talking for sure.

I seshed with him the other day. Wednesday I think. I drove out to his school and shred for about four hours while he was on break from class and to my suprise when I arrived at the school, Matt was playing with three other guys who definitely had some footbag practice. I was blown away to realize that here is a circle of four shredders all within twenty minutes of my house! It was pretty crazy, before I know it we may be able to get all these people together for quite the Ottawa session.

Tomorrow (Monday) I'm going to be having a session with Dan and Matt, I'll tell ya what everyone hit.
