Maybe you could use that tactically ? :) Do couple of hard tricks and drop after your opponent has done a long run and pass the bag back to him so that he is too tired to do anything? :) It brings another element to circle. Crowd is always amazed of athletes' stamina. It is easy for people in the cr...

I have to agree you on certain points, dyalander. My main point was that if sports like diving, figure skating (or even ski jumping) are hard to judge even if they have a really limited number of "tricks" they can do, it is really hard to have same kind of system working in footbag. This seems clear...

As you say, that is bad judging. You are right. Still, because the variety of tricks and the looseness of instructions and regulations given to judges, it is very hard, or perhaps impossible, to carry out satisfyingly. If you look at other sports, like ski jumping, figure skating or diving, all the...

Interesting discussion. I think fitness plays to big a role in this format. Stamina/fitness is a big part of elimination circle. I tried gauntlet in the final run simply because I didn't have energy for anything more than one trick. But I think it's great - stamina always plays an important part in ...

Elimination Circle
We used elimination circle in the final round in AFS Opening Jam. If you haven't watched it already, you can find the link below: http://www.footbag.org/gallery/show/-13431 What do you think about circle with elimination? In my opinion, circle is a great way of competing: it's natural, more forgivin...

Some new stuff at today's practice with Santeri and Juha: - flipside gravedigger - pixie diving butterfly - pixie diving whirl - pixie ducking whirl - frontside symposium fusion - torque-drifter-repeat - atomic torque (both sides) And after a long pause blurry whirl-blurriest-blurriest-blurry whirl ...

Some progress in yesterdays training session with Juha and Santeri. - flurry (both sides) - tapping drifter (both sides) - atomic drifter (both sides) I'm not sure if I've hit my better side tapping drifter before.. can't remember. Anyway I founded a footbag club in Helsinki university. We got accep...

It's been a while - yet again :) I have played footbag occasionally after worlds 2005, but I picked up footbag two or three months ago with my brother once again and we have been playing one to three times a week ever since (approximately two times per week). We're doing good and playing is really f...

As you can read in my blog, I was in the army six months before worlds. During that time I was so sick that I actually could play three times only. It was a very hard experience for me and naturally just few weeks after the army I fell back on to the tricks I knew I could do. When you see me on that...

Flavio looks alot like Johny Murphy :) The style and the hair etc :) I didn't know anything about footbaggers in sweden so I must say I was impressed. Good job both playing and editing the video. Why don't you come over to Finnish Foobag Open or just anytime? I know I would be happy to shred with yo...

worlds 2005 - my tale
it's been a while.. I want to start saying that worlds 2005 was really professional and good event. The press was present and it will have a big positive influence in footbag scene and people's opinions of footbag in finland. I enjoyed every second of it. Personally, it's been a black year for me. I...

I've got something very secret to tell you all. I know a guy who knows a guy who has hit a 6 dex. I've never met him but I think I did see him once in my dreams. Not sure though. I can't tell you anything, but that guys name contains k letter. I'm sure they'll prove it, just wait. I'm probably dead ...

Hi Mads! I'm sorry, I said it wrong! I'm really enthustiastic to build up a strong and solid european footbag community! As my brother said, the only reason why the whole team finland didn't come was because money and how our country supports us. And I wish they would have chosen euros instead of wo...

My late small freestyle summary from FFO2004: Warming up... The warmups were held at kisahalli, very familiar place for every shredder living in Helsinki. I was surprised how much there were people, how young they were and especially how skilled they were. Of course the star was Vasek. You'll see hi...
