Re: why "the"

Well, this stuff is really well before my time in the game, so there is no way that I can contribute any info that Kenny or Rippin' wouldn't already know, and know better than me... A few years back I did have the opportunity to shred on the campus of the University of Texas at Austin... you could s...

Re: Hooping!

I like hooping for a number or reasons. #1 -- I just couldn't do it when I was a kid. Somewhere along the line I developed the coordination to keep that damn thing up, and I'm happy about that. My theory is that so many years of freestyle footbag have improved my over-all coordination so much that I...

And also big thanks to Tom Kotsakos for bringing an ass-load of fireworks to celebrate the 4th of July in Canada! And big thanks to Drew Martin for bringing the Party Tent -/- Emergency Mosquito-Apocalypse Shelter! And most of all, big thanks to Cassy Taylor for hosting a really awesome event! Holy ...

Re: Social Login

No thanks!!! I don't want to be automatically logged-in to anything anywhere ever. When I want to be on Facebook, I'll log-on to Facebook, and as soon as I'm done with Facebook, I log-off from Facebook. I do not want the act of logging-on to Facebook to automatically cause me to be logged-in to Mod...

Re: Riverrock 2014

I've watched it like 5 times now...just a great job capturing the vibe of a jam. Its a good vid... It does a pretty good job of capturing the vibe... But really, Ivan was only there 1 day out of three... The RiverRock Festival has been pretty much my favorite jam of the year for the past three year...

Re: Feminine Freestyle

Nicely done --- cool trick, good execution. I see what you're saying --- a rooted set... crossing the one leg over the other, it is as though the rooted foot/setting foot is now cross-body and thus the mirage becomes paradox. But, I've never heard this trick refered to as toe-set paradox mirage. Hav...

Re: Riverrock 2014

Well, Family and School should come before footbag, but we'll miss you. Hey, at least it's not Work that you've got to put ahead of footbag, and as far as school obligations go, a school picnic at an famous amusment park sounds at least a little better than, say, final exams or parent-teacher confer...

Re: MULF Ultimate League of Footbag

This is a pretty interesting find... I've tried to examine this all a little bit closer, but information is hard to find. I get the feeling that this might be real, and something in the nature of the BUCE LEAGUE, in which case, that's kind of cool. It would be nice if there were some video or at lea...

Can't believe its been more than 2 months since anybody posted in this thread, so... BUMP BUMP, BROTHERS! I've got TWO two-bed rooms booked at the host hotel, the Crown Plaza. (they're both about $120 per room per night --- with 4 or more to a room it's not too costly --- the rooms should be close t...

Re: Footbag jokes

Yeah, the "screw in a lightbulb" one is my favorite -- the best footbag joke I've heard. However, I remember it a little differently --- in my recollection, it was one to screw in the bulb, one to say "Nice!" and THREE to film... the joke was, at that time, that it often seemed like there were more ...

Agree with Nathan. Mo Racca story = Awesome.

Re: Kellogg's Footbag promo dilemma

Subvert their intended goals by deliberately being a terrible instructor and performer, especially making the kids look bad! JUST KIDDING! Subvert their intentions by concentrating on circle-hacky rather than freestyle performance, putting maximum emphasis on the students having a good time playing ...

Cross your fingers...my contact is working on getting net finals on the island. Even as a dedicated NON-net-player, I think that would be TOTALLY AWESOME! Here's just a little thought.... run a short official freestyle DEMO in-between Singles finals and Doubles finals (if in fact there are both sin...

Re: NYFA Worlds 2014 Bid

I cannot speak for all of the NYC footbag community, but I am one member of that community. Speaking just for myself, I consider the East Coast Footbag Championships to be a higher priority for me, and, for the past two years, the New York City footbag community has focused on ECFC as the local prem...

Count me in. Jamming at RiverRock has been a very good time for the last two years, and some of the other NYFA kickers and I were already talking about the anticipation of RiverRock 3 last week. I'm totally pscyched for RiverRock again already, and this year I'm gonna be even better prepared for it!

Re: NYFA New Year Spam?

Cool cool cool. My recollection from the last time we kicked at PMT was that it was a better price and better lighting than Capoeira Angola (they let light bulbs burn-out and don't replace them at the Capoeira place...). Thanks alot for making the arrangements, Drew. You the man. Merry Christmas.
