Head Stall To Heel Kick

Post by Kenar » 27 Sep 2008 22:15

I am working on a top of head stall to heel kick and head stall to behind body sole kick. Is there a name for these moves?

'head stall', 'heel kick' and 'sole kick' are the names for these moves, I think :) . I'm not really the man to give advice about them though.

Uh so ive been hitting this alot lately and cant figure out what its called ill try jobs notation and then describe it i thinks its...

clipset>opin(DEX)>samein(DEX)>same toe(DEL)

Well if thats wrong what i do is i set it from a right foot clipper, then toss it up and do an in to out dexterity with my left foot twice and catch it one the same foot for a toe delay.

I really need to know the name of this because it looks pretty cool.

O and if there is a name for it thats different, whats the name for the same trick but you end up with a clipper delay instead of a toe delay.

thx :) :)

and by clipper variation (a way that I've NEVER thought of doubleswitch) he means ending on "op clip" instead of "same toe"

No, no, he said in-to-out, so it's a double pickup.
And to clipper it's either whirr (more likely) or barrage bailed to clipper (which I think has a name...)

I guess I left one thing out. Head stall > heal kick > over head > toe stall.

Is there any name for something like this, or are they still individual moves?

it all depends on how you look at it. I think it's good to look at things in terms of their components...

I've worked on some of this kind of thing. go for stalling the bag in the same place on your head every time, right on your center, standing in good balance, and making a smooth, even motion that you can repeat.

I'd assume that sole stall / kick is going to come easier for you than heel. I love the way blind sole kick looks.

something I like to try to do is left foot inside kick over right side shoulder past the ear to right blind sole kick back over right shoulder (but I try it on both sides, that's just an example from left kick).

the first kicking trick I ever saw anyone do was right knee kick over right shoulder to blind right sole kick, back over right shoulder to right knee kick.

my dad did it, first try ever, with a promotional baseball given out at a baseball game. He doesn't do any sort of recreational kicking, nor has he ever.

He brought his employees out to the game for an end of season party. They were all over in the bleachers watching, we were off to the side kicking baseballs.

Thanks Matt -- sounds like some good things to work on, although I have trouble getting my sole up flat enough to kick the bag back to where I can play it. My flexibility is lacking, so I was thinking the heal kick might work a little better.

ducking ingyro pickup.

from the name, before I saw the video, I was concerned that it would be like a ducking rake, but you cleanly do the spin, then dex. cool move!

I would call it ducking gyro pickup, not ingyro - as like with dexes I would base the gyro/ingyro off the last component before the spin - not the first component. After a duck the bag is on the opposite side. Fairly academic debate though :P

Yup, thats it. Is there a different name if you set it from clipper, instead of your toe?

It's natural to assume it's set from a clipper. I think it would be fine to prefix it as "toe torque" when set from a toe - unless you're talking about a combo where it's obviously a toe torque, like blur>torque.
