Numb toe

Post by Jeremy » 02 Jan 2012 20:34

I am going to go see a doctor about this soon, but I thought I'd run it by the forum, since perhaps somebody could help me.

A few months ago (October I think) I bruised my big toe playing soccer. A good sized bruise appeared under the toe nail, but it was otherwise fine. I don't recall it hurting at all. However more recently the end of the toe has gone numb, and has slight pins and needles. It still doesn't hurt, and doesn't restrict me at all, but I am a little concerned. The bruise is still there.

Does this sound like something that could develop into something serious, or will it just get better when the blood eventually goes away?

Oddly enough, I have had this same thing before. Usually when I walk or hike for long distances and I think I recall it only happening in boots. Don't know what it is though, Sorry. Doesn't happen to me too often though and when it does happen, it doesn't last very long. Hope your problem is easily resolved.

Hope so too. I'm worried they will remove the toe nail, or possibly if it's bad I don't do anything about it, the toe. It's been nearly a month of being numb, so definitely time to show a doctor.

It sounds like I had the same thing. I personally love the feeling of having a bruise under the nail and then the nail falling off. But yeah nothing serious will come of it. My doctor said so too.
