Andromeda Drill and Clippin Drill completed

Post by MetZelRio » 14 Jan 2014 02:10

drills/runs challenges please. I guess I've got tiltless okay now. not mastered by any means. I've got the freestyle level one badge and my record for tiltless contacts is 49.

Video proof or it didn't happen.

#1 (Jay Boychuk) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ieHHI6vF-SA
All of the drills up to, and including the osis b2b portion of this video.

#2. (Nick Polini) Mirage> Legover *rpt> Illusion> Pickup *rpt

#3 (Janis) Legover, Illusion, Mirage and Pickup each BSOS from the four basic sets (toe, same, clipper, far/paradox.

JANIS! this was a revolutionary drill for me. I've improved so much because of this. You're the man!

#4 (Andre )
4a-20 toe flicks b2b
4b-50 inside kicks b2b
4c-10 outside kicks b2b
4d-50 inside stalls b2b
4e-50 toe stalls b2b
4f-20 outside stalls b2b
4g-10 Clippers b2b

#5 (Derek Littlefield) hit a 30 contact Tiltless and above string, with at least 7 3's up in it. If that's too easy, make it 10.

Challenge 1b: Legover atw atw drill x six contacts complete (Jay Boychuk)

Also, I learned the correct way to spell Jay Boychuk. (I hope I corrected all the misspellings)

Funny Story about Jay, (more about me actually)

I was at worlds 07 and I was practicing dyno, and some dude walks up to me and begins to teach me the correct way to execute a dyno. I was obviously doing it incorrectly, like most of my footbag execution at the time. Now, I was a HUGE admirer of Jorden Moir and since I wanted to meet him, he was basically the reason I ultimately decided to go. I knew Jorden was the MAN, but who in the heck is this guy trying to teach me how to footbag?????????????????? Oh, nobody, just Jay Boychuk "Creator" The man with the heart of a teacher...the man who was mentored by Jorden Moir... the man who arguably has the most love in his heart for the sport of footbag. Who did he think he was trying to teach ME something?

On the real though, Much Respect Jay.

Mirage> Legover *rpt> Illusion> Pickup *rpt ;) Good luck. You got it!

Also, Just watched your most recent challenge video… I agree. Holy crap! Nice job! You had unmistakeable flow and consistency with that string. Big props on that.

This is officially inspiring me to start up a new challenge thread. Thanks for the inspiration! Glad to see you're using yours! Not many people are nowadays. That can change!

Nick, your compliments have officially stoked my footbag flame even more. I truly appreciate what you said! (In both of my threads) And as for getting modified rolling again, I LOVE MODIFIED, and it would be an honor to have a part in getting folks to get back to posting in here more... and it looks as though we are!

CHALLENGES SESH

(Nick, I tried what you said a few times in these challenges, keep going.. don't hand catch, and I don't know how to freestyle apparently. If i dont have a plan, it seems to all fall apart. weak spot in my game identified.)

Post by MetZelRio » 06 May 2014 16:55

Since I've completed all the current challenges that were given to me. I figured I would update the first post with the videos. Not that I don't have anything to work on (freestyle badge level 2, former challenges from years past, breaking tiltless records, etc) It is nice to have some current challenges to work on from influences in the community. So if you've got a second or two, would you give me some new challenges that I can work on every now and then? Thank you so much!

Something I'd highly recommend is doing the various basic 1 dex tricks from both clipper and toe without a drop inbetween (feel free to bail as much has you want/need). You can do the same for legover/mirage/pickup/illusion etc.
So for example with legover: clipper set near legover bsos, far legover bsos, toe same side legover bsos and toe op legover bsos.

There's 8 tricks, bail as much as you need, it's mostly about getting the sets right and building up consistency.

Once you get really comfortable with them you can aim to get all the contacts of more than one in the one run. Legover and mirage for example.

I do this almost every session as I find it a really good way to work on those components.

The ATW/ORBIT drill is the flipside one, so Jay7 , that completes your challenge of "All of the drills up to, and including the osis b2b portion of this video."

Janis, I've only got the illusion portion of your challenge left :D

Anyone else got anything for me?

@C-Fan you gave me this challenge somewhere around 6-8 years ago. I'm working on 'em

There is some talk about pixie tricks not having trick names, so I came up with the following compilation of names that have already been established AND some that have now been proposed by others and myself.

Image

~PROPOSED NAMES FOR PIXIE/OPEN TRICKS~

Pixie Same Illusion ... Pix S il ... "Pixel"
Pixie Same Mirage ... Pix S ir ... "Pixar"
Pixie Same Pickup ... Pix S up ..."Pixup"
Pixie Pickup ... Taking the Sm (smudge, smear)and adding the "ck" from "pickup" to form "Smack"

Am I using the wrong name for them? I read the name "toe flick" somewhere on this forum and have been using it ever since.

Oh, I already do 100 toe kicks. But yeah, im not sure what's gonna happen with my ankle. Last time I jacked it up pretty good. Crank is almost non-existent. That doesn't do well for inside stall, kicks or clippers. I might be bowing out gracefully. (?)
