Challenge Lon Smith Please

Post by ShredOnLawn » 19 May 2005 21:55

I'd like to hear what people want to see me master.

I'm good at Spins Ducks and Flyers Drifters and Torques. Rev Whirls too.

I don't want challenges with too many dexterities. I try to avoid dexterities.

I like really long drills because they work the brain as well as the body.

Last summer I hit some great drills.

Paradox Blender Mobius Repeat(just this year actually)

Gyro Pickup Fairy Far Clipper Gyrokon Pixie Far Clipper(Both sides)

Blury Drifter Paradox Torque Repeat

Mobius Paradox Drifter Repeat

Paradox Torque Paradox Drifter Repeat

Barfly Paradox Torque Barfly Mobius Barfly Repeat

Superfly Scorpions Tail Repeat

Mullet Stepping Whirl Repeat(copied from Vasek)

Tomahawk Spinning Tomahawk Repeat

Drifter Vortex Paradox Drifter Repeat

Blurriest Blurrier Repeat(just at CSS6 actually)

Superfly Shaft Repeat

Tomahawk Whirling Swirl Repeat(Vasek did this symposium)

Spinning Osis Reverse Swirl Repeat Spinning Osis Swirl Repeat

Eggbeater Shaft Repeat

Parkwalk,Mixer,Magelan,Pixie Legover Repeat

But I want more fun drills like Dragonly Spinning clipper rpt or something like that.

Thanks, Lon

spinning dragonfly > spinning osis [repeat]
mobius > marius [repeat]

mobius > inspinning osis [repeat]
ducking osis > weaving osis [repeat] > diving osis > zulu osis [repeat]

I'd venture to say that you've already hit the last two.

Professionals practice until they can't get it wrong.

No, I don't play soccer. Yes, there are competitions. 4 years. Lots of practice.

I want to see you do a ducking butterfly while breaking a board with your head.

I thought you would do it the night you had the towel on your head.

Yeah, that would be tight. Braking a board with the Ducking set.

Good idea.

Here's some other challenges for anyone to try:

Break a footbag record with a beer in each hand.
Do a 7 add move with a blindfold.
clipper stall for a mile or more.
shred on a trampoline.
shred underwater.
Do every trick "the"
shred on the edge of a cliff.
Do 3 symposiums in one trick.
hold your breath for an entire shred 30 w/o passing out.

This is a total hijack, but there are a couple of things I need to comment on.

First, I think there's a footbag record on Lon's list that I can beat with a bear in each hand. I plan an attempt for Saturday. You other guys can handle the rest of Jim's challenges.

Second, Splint, I'd think that fairy same clip refers to, say, a left toe fairy followed by a right foot clipper. Same refers to side, not foot. Am I wrong here?

Hijack over.

and

blurry whirl>blurry whirl> blurriest> blurriest>tomahawk>tomahawk>ps whirl>spin whirl>ps whirl> spin whirl> superfly>superfly>pdx torque>pdx torque>mobius>mobius

Gyro DLO > Fairie Same Clip > Repeat
Inspinning Mirage > Toe Drifter > Repeat
Motion > Tombstone > Blurry Drifter > repeat

I have done very few of these drills in the past and tried almost none since I've received them. I don't practice any double dexterities any more other than Double Butterfly moves.

But most these challenges will be hit in Vancouver Washington the weekend after this upcoming one.

Yo, Lon, you're one of two players (I can't remember who the other one was) who I've seen cleanly ducking a kick - where the bag was low and controlled enough that the duck was necessary to get your head under it. I love this stuff, and I challenge you to get better at it. So much better that you can hit a couple of clean ducking flyers in a row, hell, maybe even a few. Go nuts.
