Fusing/Falling and Delusional

Post by cammel » 02 Mar 2006 23:31

Hey everyone,
ive been working on my sets alot lately and i have fairy, pixie, stepping, and atomic down fairly well and i was looking for advice on fusing and delusional sets. These sound pretty rediculous and i was wondering if anyone who has hit them (if anyone has) had any advice on how to hit them or has a video of either of these being hit.
Thanks
-Gray

Johnny S. has hit fusing tricks and Jorden M. has hit delusional tricks.

I think Ales Zelinka invented Delusional,
and Eric Reile invented Fusing.
I don't think Ales' delusional was the same as Jorden's though (an actual set).

I can't hit fusing although I imagine the key is to have a very fast sharp fairy set - ie. you're fairy setting leg doesn't have much lateral movement - thus giving you more time to get the atomic dex.

For delusional I think it's important to learn a leggy flailing set and also furious set. Learning furious set isn't really crucial but it was learning that set that helped me make the mental jump to figure out how to do delusional. Basically for me it feels like you start with a leggy flailing set so that the bag is still to the inside of your knee after the first dex then as soon as your foot is around the bag you push your knee hard across and up. Another way you could think of it is a symple leggy flailing muted same side atomic set - although really it's all one action - I think it helps to seperate out the dexes though because they're in slightly different styles.

Good luck and I hope you can understand my tips

That sounds like a great way to tweak your knee Jeremy ;).

I know a long while back, Kevin was explaining the motions of the delusional set and basicaly it the first was leggy, followed by a hippy dex (like you described).

I've seen Jorden hit delusional set, and I've hit Fusewalk and Fairy atomsmasher!.

I think of Fusing set as a sharp fairy set, and then a half-way symp atomic set. I also have to think of making the fairy sharp and quick while making it go towards the opp side it's set from (e.g. my only fuse set is my right side, so I have to "aim" my fairy towards my left side to do a better and faster atomic set) then, while I'm doing the fairy set, I have to jump and do a semi-symposium atomic dex.

When I hit alpine fusing op barroque I hit the set just as Nick described above. So if you want to hit the fusing set, I recommend reading his tips. I don't really have anything new to add.

Haha when i read that and i wasnt really sure what to think, to scared to ask though  . Alpine fusing barroque would be pretty sweet though. I guess that will be my new goal  Thanks for the advice though on the fusing set. Im still pretty far from hitting it but this helps. If anyone knows of any vids of this i'd love to see them.
