What are your 5 best tricks ever?

Post by C-Fan » 07 Mar 2011 11:34

What are the five best tricks you've ever hit? Feel free to define "best" any way you like, be it based on adds, style, whatever. Posting video would be a nice bonus too.

I'd like to see both beginners and vets post in here. For beginners, it'll be fun to look back in the future and see how much you improved. For vets, I'm sure everybody who's been in the game for a while will have some cool stuff to hit. I'm hoping to be surprised by some moves too, like, I'm sure people have hit tricks that aren't associated with their styles.

I want these lists to represent people's best tricks, so please stick to the limit of 5, or less even. I feel like longer lists are kind of a copout.

Looking forward to seeing people's lists!

Nice topic!

I would have to say that my best trick yet is Mobius, not because of the ADDs, I don't really give a rats ass about em, but because it really is one of the coolest tricks in the history of footbag. I think many agree.

Four other best tricks are harder to say, but I guess PS Whirl is one of them. It looks cool and is difficult-ish. Matador is nice too. Oh, and Vortex. I guess I have a little crush on Gyro miraging-tricks, eh? The fifth.. Stepping ss Down Twist or what on earth it's supposed to be called.. Mostly because it's quite rare and difficult.

That would be my list, I'm interested in reading other's lists too..

I suck at footbag, by the way.

Flailing delusional near mirage.

Stepping far flailing double switch.

Open flailing illusioning down.

Grifter swirl. (clipper set)

Twisting whirling gyro mirage.

I think all of those are inventions. :?:

*edit*.. Herm, I'll describe these better.

1.) In "Badassery".

2.) Backside bedwetter + switch, like Matt said.

3.) The style was normal open, and then a warp set (all dexes leggy, Pinkus style), then a down.

5.) Imagine how most do "twisting blender". Same timing, just, a lot faster and more dexes.

Wow, Jay.

Mine might be:
-alpine stampede
-spinning ducking DLO (don't remember if I've done symp or not)
-terraging mirage (invention)
-alpine reverse whirlygig

I can't think of a neat fifth. I don't have many.

maelstrom
gyro whirl(hard for me)
dbl down swirl
open paradon(flip)
following ducking osis(just hit right now, Invention?)from toe not clipper though
If you don't know what following is, it is a mix between duck and spin where you allways face the bag. feels like limbo. I came up with these tricks in early 04. Diving spinning direction is following, ducking inspin direction is leading.

Jay: Thanks for clarifications.
Matt: Thanks for video.
Erik: See Jay's post; Matt was referring to a different trick description.

Awesomeness, craziness. I'd love love love to see video of any of these.

Funny that's come up twice already in this thread. Clearly mobius isn't the hardest trick for most people, but there's something so cool and styly about it, and the way it feels to hit too...

1. gyro barroque

2. pixie symp. whirling swirl

3. whirlwind swirl

4. Paradox symple whirl

5. vortex / AZITG

1-3 because they are just plain hard. I think I may have been the first to hit 2. at the time.
4. I've never seen or heard anyone else hit and I thought it was quite creative at the time
5. Is just plain an awesome footbag move and its very rare variant

Can't wait for Ken's post in this subject (page 2 maybe?)

trying to think of 5 tricks has shown me how little time I spend working on big tricks. i think I'm much more likely to go for hard drills..

anyway..

nuke torque
toebius
blurry symple drifter
atomic swirl, muted
aaaand PS whirl

Are you saying that's one of the five hardest tricks for you to hit? If so, I can understand that. Otherwise, I'd think you probably have a ton of nuke tricks which would be considered harder than that, such as 69.
max wrote:5. vortex / AZITG
For those who don't know, "AZITG" is short for "Alex Zerbe Is The Greatest." The trick is symple vortex. The story goes that Alex Zerbe dreamed of this trick, but was unable to hit it. At Worlds 2002 or 2003 he asked Ales Zelinka to hit this trick and name it after him, with the aforementioned name.

Excited to check out the video links Max posted when I get home. Pixie symp whirling swirl is pretty nuts...I believe it was named Croissant? I still haven't heard of anybody else hitting this. I'll give it a try today.

As for my top 5, I'm still giving it some thought, and I'd like to post links too.
