I have to say that the sam video gets points for it's ambition. You went all out and created some interesting effects. The problem is, effects like that only look "realistic" when they are done totally professionally. I would have spent more time thinkning about the flow of the piece from beginning to end. Continuity between cuts and a good solid ending are two key elements that would have swayed me towads this vid.
Chan, you got my vote. The shed wasn't as heavy, but this video looked more professional. The pacing of the video was extremely well done. You did a good job of saving your best shred footage for the end, which helped build intensity.
In this case, simplicity won because it looked cleaner and flowed better as an overall piece.
Great work, both of you. If I had more footage, I would join the battle. Keep it up.

Dude guys, nice work both of you! Looking foreward to seeing more battles, and I really love the idea of having to swap footage, just ads a whole new element to the game cos after a while you get used to the style of the people you usually film. why not exchange miniDV tapes by post?
I'd like to see Sam editing footage of chan and vice versa. why because you will make sure you send your oponent the best footage of yourself because you want to make it impossible for him to embarras your freestyle skills on his tape no matter how hard he tries:)
anyway keep it up!
Oh and I still have to vote right?
Sams is more creative and better edited in my opinion. Only setback: I think the footage of chris is not 100% the best he can do, a lot of dexes looked a little sloppy on the slomos and thats not good.
Erics has a nice feel to it and I apreciate him using footage of an "unknown" player (at least to me). However the lighting situation is not the best and there is nothing that realy makes me smile in the vid.
In the end creativity wins out.

oh, you were talking about them being clean....well if you freeze the moves right as my foot is over the bag, my ankle is right on top of the bag. which i think is clean for leggy dex's. now as far as them looking nice...it will take some time to get those moves looking smooth and easy.
correct me if i'm wrong about ankle dexing being clean. i try to dex around the lower calf at least, but for these warped moves, that's still hard to do.
