Magic / Sleight of hand

Post by david » 24 Jan 2008 08:49

Hey,

Does anyone on here practice the art of magic? I have been into cards for about 5 months now and I'm pretty decent. Any discussion on the topic would be cool. The only other magicians in footbag I know are Cale McCoy and one other but now I'm forgetting.

Lemme know.

I practice every once in a while. I'm getting ok at the double lift. Good enough to do tricks that amaze people. :D

No, I don't play soccer. Yes, there are competitions. 4 years. Lots of practice.

Reading some of your posts has made me kinda wanna learn 2-3 impressive card tricks just to mess with people.

I'll probably check it out soon.

Any really sick website to start with or something though?

for magic bicycle is the only

learn the faro shuffle, very neat tool especially for multilevel fans

also, research the CHaSeD deck configuration. its like a stacked deck that you can do multiple tricks from, with the deck cold every time

essentially no matter what card you look at, youll know the card in front of and behind it

kem are the shit for playing, however

I hang around with a guy who's been doing street performing for the last 5 years or so, and he does a lot of cool card tricks, some of the basic ones he's tried to teach me. I can do a few different lifts and palms, but that's about it. I don't know what it's called but my favourite trick is the one where you show them a card and get them to clasp their hands over it, then show them another card and then wave it under their clasped hands, and then the two cards "swap" places. I love seeing people try to figure out how you pulled the card out of their clasped hands and put another in without them noticing. Also it's about the most basic but actually impressive card trick I know of :P

Obviously magicians don't reveal their tricks, but you can probably find it on youtube or something.
